I was just sent this photo. It is of my grandmother’s grandparents. Apparently, the little boy in the photo had made a name for himself in the Yiddish theater and in radio. His name was Menashe Skulnick. He is not my ancestor, but his parents (seated) were.

Buy Your Coffee From These Patriots
It’s neat seeing the clothes that people use to wear back then. People used to look so dignified back then.
I’m sure they didn’t dress that way every day. Having a family photo taken was, in those days, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But yes, they were definitely more dignified.
People often look cross in these old photos. Not these folks, necessarily, but they had to remain motionless and it took over a minute for the camera’s shutter to open. This naturally created a sense of irritation in the sitter.
Interesting Wikipedia article. Thanks for sharing.
These were Jews, so they couldn’t look “cross”. Rather, Menashe was a “star”.

Why do so many Jewish men date asian and sometimes black women? I know Jewish moms can’t be so thrilled about this.
The reason that I ask this is because I just recently when to New York and I saw several of the AW/WM and a couple BW/WM. My brother told me that it is pretty normal.
cool! (^_^)
your grandmother’s grandmother looks like she wouldn’t take any funny business! in the way that people’s grandmother’s grandmothers often looked. (~_^)
