Of course it’s not a perfect analogy. The “Indian government” didn’t invite Europeans to come and settle. Then again, the governments we now have in place (in Europe, America and Australia) are replacing their populations without the consent of the governed.

Nice idea. But what’s “Lord Nelson” doing in there? He wasn’t even born until 1758 and didn’t get his peerage until 1798. And why are the British marines wearing Spanish helmets?
It could be oversights or it could be that it doesn’t really matter; the arrivals represent white people in all their varieties.
The helmets look like morions. According to Wikipedia (not one of their “citation needed” assertions):
“In England this helmet (also known as the pikeman’s pot) is associated with the New Model Army, one of the first professional militaries.”
So it has nothing to do with Lord Nelson (who was obviously included as a joke) but it isn’t too bad for the 17th Century in which some of the events they’re referring to take place.
(Can anyone place the music at around 2:00 to 2:30? Sounds like Arditi or Kreuzweg Ost … far out.)
An interesting thing about morions is that some of them were counted, along with other helmet types, in the Jamestown census of 1625.
The tune at 2:00 is apparently Track IX off of United in Blood by Arditi and Toroidh. It is based on (among other things) a song called “Unser Rommel” which was written during the general’s lifetime, to celebrate him
Blocked in the UK. Damn!
No worries; I took the liberty of downloading it and reposting it to shutterfly. The link is right under the youtube video.
I’m terribly sorry. I’m still having a problem viewing. After signing up with Shutterfly, the link just takes me to the ‘My videos’ page.
Thanks for your efforts though!
I am so glad we defeated those racist indians and brought diversity to this land! I will be sending this video to everyone I know.
It’s certainly an interesting way to turn the tables on the “Yeah, well your people aren’t indigenous to this country, therefore mass immigration” argument.
Re: CalistoRising,
I’m not sure why the link is not working. I’ll try to figure it out. In the meantime, check your email.
The link is probably not working because the E-Quality police over there have figured out a way to keep it blocked. Keep trying, though. Excellent video!
