Kippa walk in Malmo, Sweden

Some Jews have gotten together and openly flaunted their Jewishness in heavily Muslim Malmo, Sweden. reports:

(JTA) – Several hundred kipah-wearing Jews and non-Jews marched in Sweden as a sign of solidarity with Malmo’s Jews.
Some 400 marchers gathered Saturday outside the synagogue in Malmo and walked to Mollevangs Square, a part of the city with many Muslim immigrants from the Middle East.
Speakers included Brigitta Ohlsson, minister for European Affairs;  Willy Silberstein, head of the Swedish Committee Against Anti-Semitism; Social Democratic politician Lucian Astudillo; and Jehoshua Kaufman of the Jewish Community of Malmo.
“The idea is to show ourselves and others that we refuse to be afraid or hide our Jewish affiliation,” Fredrik Sieradzki, director of communications for the Jewish community of Malmo, told JTA before the march.
Earlier this year, a rabbi from Malmo was physically assaulted.
In 2010, Malmo Mayor Ilmar Reepalu said that a group of Jews in Malmo who were attacked by Swedish Muslims during a peaceful protest in support of Israel brought the violence upon themselves for not distancing themselves from Israel and its actions during the monthlong Gaza War in 2008-09.
The first walk began in Malmo in January when members of the local synagogue decided to keep on their kipot upon exiting their synagogue. Reports about the march on Facebook helped draw more marchers. Saturday’s walk was  the fourth such event in Malmo, which has a Jewish population of approximately 1,800.

I think that’s wonderful. It’s important to bring attention to the problems that large-scale Muslim/African immigration bring to Western countries. It’s also important for people to stand up for what they are and defy the oppressors.
Perhaps we can have “white walks” in the U.S. some day, where whites can stand up to their black/Mexican oppressors and boldly state, “We are white, we are proud, and we do not fear you any longer!”
I would like to think that this kippa walk is the beginning of a larger movement where non-Muslims/non-Africans will take a stand against the invasion of their homelands. It would be ironic in several ways.

While it’s good to see somebody standing up to the Islamization of Sweden, it is sad that they can only do it under the auspices of an officially protected identity. They cannot say that as white residents of Sweden, they resent the intrusion of blacks and muslims into their society, but must specifically focus on the fact that muslims in Sweden often harm Jews. Would it be okay if the immigrants “merely” engaged in random violence against Swedish citizens, but did not specifically target Jews for some of their attacks? It is terrible that a rabbi who probably did his attackers no harm was murdered, but how is it better if a blonde woman is brutally raped and murdered by feral immigrants? The first has inspired protests and media outrage, while the latter is covered up or treated as an isolated incident.
Also, how many of these Jewish and non-Jewish citizens oppose the misbehavior of muslims in Sweden, but support mass immigration? I would actually say that a policy like that is worse, because it will paper over the problems in the short term, through “assimilation” programs, until the demographic tipping point is reached. It is like a man taking painkillers to deal with his unusual headaches, unaware that he has a treatable, but rapidly advancing brain tumor.
France has taken such an attitude towards immigrant assimilation, and the result is that racial problems have festered under the surface for decades, erupting violently like they did in Paris a few years ago. And because the French do not even keep stats on racial demographics, the true extent of the problem is almost impossible to determine!

Rereading my previous comment, it was hyperbolic of me to say that the media was outraged by the murder of the rabbi. I am sure that to most of the left, this is also an “isolated incident”. But I stand by my point that the media is much more supportive of those who are up in arms about attacks aimed specifically at Jews, while anyone who complains about crimes against Swedes generally is denounced as an evil racist who must be silenced, by force if necessary.

    • I can’t predict the future. I see this as a harbinger of one of two things:
Continued reïnforcement of the principle that only minorities can complain about other minorities’ behavior. Gentile Swedes will just shake their heads sadly and think “If only….”
Whites following the Jewish lead. Preferably, Whites generating a zionism of their own.

    Very well spoken, GR!

I think the next step is to march through the ghetto with pictures of Muhammad.

One of the open secrets of WWII is that most Norwegians (like most Swedes and many Frenchmen and some Brits) supported the Nazis and that virulent anti-Semitism has always been a major component of Norwegian (and Germanic ) culture.

    • SFG says:

You wouldn’t have to be virulently anti-Semitic to support the Nazis, simply afraid of getting turned into soap yourself. They were a nasty bunch of fellows.

      • Derelictus says:

Seriously? The “Jews into soap” canard has been thoroughly debunked by every historian, orthodox or revisionist. It’s not helpful to eternally promulgate myths, even if they are in reference to fellows you (and most other people) don’t like too much.

Yes, Barbara Lerner Specter must be pleased with her handiwork.

If only more people were like Hindus and Jews, serious about retaining their own traditions while respecting the religious freedoms of others, we wouldn’t have such a problem with Muslims and Christians missionaries.

  10. Yew Among You says:

Hindus, Jews, Buddhist, Jains, Sikhs, and freedom loving indigenous religions world wide need to unite against exclusivistic Islamo-Christian missionary zeal.

    • I’d agree, and I’d add groups like the Druze, Alawites, Yezidis, traditional Africans, Shinoists, Native Americans, and others to that list. Missionary activity is often just re-packaged neo-colonialism. But I say that not as a tiresome anti-colonialist who blames everything on White men, but rather as an advocate for Whites. We shouldn’t be in their countries interfering with their affairs, and they shouldn’t be in ours doing the same.
That said, I know there are many cultures (mainly Polynesian) who have made a great deal of progress only after converting to Christianity. But how these cultures decide to manage their entry into the modern world should be their decision, not ours.
