A couple of months ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that…
The unfinished work of racial justice and equality call us all to account. Things must change, and Apple’s committed to being a force for that change. Today, I’m proud to announce Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, with a $100 million commitment.
Continuing it’s commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement, and to racial justice, Apple has gone a step further. Cook tweeted today:
In light of recent events in Chicago and elsewhere, it has become apparent that corporate America needs to do more for the African American community.
We at Apple recognize the risk and sacrifice that many African Americans are making toward the informal acquisition of electronics from our Apple stores. We apologize for any inconvenience our doors and locks may have caused, and we hope that no injuries were incurred because of them.
We applaud the courage and boldness of these African Americans to take what is rightfully theirs. Delayed reparations are better than no reparations at all.
However, it is not acceptable to us that these electronics might lack adequate coverage. Therefore, as part of our commitment to racial justice, we are providing free AppleCare for all informally acquired Apple electronics.
Please call 800–692–7753 and an Apple representative will be happy to assist you. Note that this program is exclusively for African Americans.
Gotta be Onion or B/B.
Actually, this one is my own satire.
