In one of my very first blog posts ever, I wrote (back in 2010):
The main difference, between us and Stossel, is that there is no conservative media when it comes to race. In racial matters, they are all “liberal”. I have no idea if John Stossel is a race realist. I seriously doubt it – and what good is the recognition of truth if it cannot be uttered?
Since then, I’d read more of his work – and I amended my opinion to:
John Stossel is far too intelligent and well-informed to NOT be a race-realist.
I’ve said similar things about Elon Musk and Ann Coulter. I stand by that statement. Some public personalities actually help us more by refraining from acknowledging the truth about race; most Americans are either too far to the left of the Bell Curve, or too far to the left politically, to be objective about such things. At least they can sway public opinion to the truth in other matters. If they speak up about race, many more Americans will simply dismiss them as “far-right crackpots.”
I find it encouraging that Stossel has now found it appropriate to admit the truth about race. In a Takimag column, he interviews Charles Murray. This is what he wrote:
I don’t see why saying that is controversial. It’s just obvious that there are differences between groups.
But Murray has been canceled.
It’s too bad.
Everything should be talked about. People who don’t agree with Charles Murray should debate him, not shun him.
He is good at revealing unpopular truths.
I look forward to a promised follow-up column – but I do take issue with premise that, since blacks can be faster runners than Whites, it’s absurd to claim that racial IQ differences don’t amount to “superiority.” Cats can lick their own butts, and humans usually can’t. Does this mean we can’t claim that humans are (in practical terms) superior to cats?
Hello, I read your blog 10 years ago. I’m glad you’re still around/publishing. Lots changed for me during that time.
You still live in the PNW? It feels everything has gotten exponentially worse over the years, not only on issues of race but now attempts to redefine sex. A crazy time we live in.
Thanks for the shout out. Actually, I spend most of the year in Dominican Republic these days. It’s a lot more sane and friendly here, not to mention affordable.
