A Mental Exercise

Today, young woman joined us at our breakfast group. She is Haitian, and (as far as I could tell), as pure a negress as one could find.

She speaks English as her second language, rather than Spanish. She is very soft-spoken and refined. Also, she is well-educated. She commented that I look more Jewish than my Jewish friend. I took that as a compliment, and told her it’s unusual for anybody from her part of the world to even know what “looking Jewish” means. She’s a devout Christian and she doesn’t date.

It’s easy to get a good impression of a young lady if she’s attractive. This lady isn’t particularly attractive, at least not by my standards. She is well-dressed, coming from one of the wealthier Haitian families.

I got to thinking; would I have been just as impressed with her had she been White? The answer is, of course, NO.

It’s in our nature to judge things, and people, by context. We don’t expect as much from black people, so we’re more impressed when they turn out to be intelligent, ethical or refined.

I think that pro-Whites will tend to belittle the positive traits of such black people, while leftists will go to the opposite extreme, falling head over heels for them. I try to find the middle ground; I won’t dismiss the good qualities of a person because of his race, but I won’t put him on a pedestal either.

I would challenge readers to conduct the same mental exercise when confronted with a similar situation.
