Regarding Trump’s decision to drop bombs on Iran, I’m not sure it was the right thing to do; I have serious concerns about it, because Iran did not attack the US first, at least not recently. That being said, I do understand Trump’s reasoning; Iran’s government is a bunch of blood-thirsty, terrorist-supporting fanatics. It cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. Its continued chants of “Death to America” and calling the US “The Great Satan” should not be taken lightly.
Pakistan can also not be trusted with nuclear weapons, but there’s not much that can be done about that at this point. No Islamic country, including the UK, should be trusted with nukes. Radical Muslims have shown, over and over again, how little human life means to them.
If I were president, I would not have bombed Iran, but I would give my full support to Israel. Yeah, I know. I’m Jewish, so of COURSE I do. Just hear me out.
Iran has been waging war against Israel for decades, mostly by proxy. From Grok:
1982–2000: Hezbollah Attacks During Israeli Occupation of Southern Lebanon (Proxy)
- Description: Following Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon, Iran trained and armed Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shia militia, to resist Israeli forces. Hezbollah conducted numerous attacks, including guerrilla warfare, rocket attacks, and bombings targeting Israeli military personnel and civilians in southern Lebanon and northern Israel. These attacks were part of Iran’s support for Hezbollah to counter Israel’s presence in Lebanon.
- 2006: Hezbollah Attacks During the Lebanon War (Proxy)
- Date: July–August 2006
- Description: During the 2006 Lebanon War, Hezbollah, backed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), launched thousands of rockets into northern Israel and engaged in ground combat with the IDF. Iran provided direct assistance, with IRGC operatives allegedly participating in rocket attacks and securing Hezbollah’s long-range missiles.
- Details: Hezbollah fired approximately 4,000 rockets, killing 43 Israeli civilians and 12 soldiers. IRGC operatives reportedly supervised an attack on the Israeli warship INS Hanit using a C-802 anti-ship missile, killing four crewmen.
- 2009: Iranian Arms Smuggling to Hamas and Hezbollah (Proxy)
- Date: January–November 2009
- Description: Iran attempted to smuggle weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah for use against Israel. In January and March 2009, Israeli airstrikes targeted Iranian arms convoys in Sudan bound for Hamas in Gaza. On November 4, 2009, Israel intercepted a ship in the eastern Mediterranean carrying hundreds of tons of Iranian weapons intended for Hezbollah.
- 2013–2017: Hezbollah and Iranian-Linked Attacks in Syria and Lebanon (Proxy)
- Date: Multiple occasions between 2013 and 2017
- Description: Hezbollah, supported by Iran’s IRGC Quds Force, conducted attacks on Israeli targets in Syria and Lebanon during the Syrian Civil War. These included rocket attacks and cross-border incursions, often in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Iranian and Hezbollah targets in Syria.
- October 7, 2023: Hamas Attack on Israel (Proxy)
- Date: October 7, 2023
- Description: Hamas, a Palestinian militant group partially funded and supported by Iran, launched a large-scale surprise attack on southern Israel, triggering the Gaza War. The attack involved rockets, ground incursions, and massacres of civilians.
- 2023–2024: Houthi Missile Attacks on Israel (Proxy)
- Date: Ongoing from late 2023
- Description: The Houthi movement in Yemen, backed by Iran, launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israeli territory, particularly the port city of Eilat, in solidarity with Hamas during the Gaza War.
Iran, therefore, has been attacking Israel for many years – by proxy.
The US has been attacking Russia for the past few years also by proxy, but Russia hasn’t yet considered it an “act of war.” Do we have a double standard?
Yes, we do, and this is how it should be. Let me show you why:

We view attacks on women and children more harshly than attacks on grown men. Why? Because they’re more vulnerable. So too is Israel. No matter how mighty Israel’s military and intelligence might be, the fact remains that it’s a tiny speck of relative civilization in a sea of hostile Muslim countries. Even “allies” such as Egypt and Jordan are teeming with fanatics who would love to exterminate every Jew in Israel.
What may be considered a national inconvenience for countries like Russia or the US can be considered an existential threat to a country like Israel. It must act accordingly. Therefore, the claim the “Israel started the war against Iran” rings hollow. Iran started the war long ago, and hasn’t ceased.
Here’s a recent tweet from Iran’s supreme leader:

Why would the victory of Palestinians be important to Iran? Because they’re MUSLIM, and Muslims are supposed to look out for each other.
Israel is, culturally-speaking, very much a part of the Western world. Its founders took pains to make it so. It’s a functioning democracy where people of any background can live in peace.
Shouldn’t the leader of the free world, the United States, look after its Western ally the same way Iran looks after its Muslim brethren? I think it should – not necessarily by bombing Iran, but at least by providing military, diplomatic, intelligence and humanitarian support.
