I like to check up on things in Portland frequently, and this is what I found today:
I have been unable to find anything about this new monument/memorial online. Some time next week, I’ll contact city offices to clarify who funded this – though it seems obvious that it was a government agency, and the design implies that it’s meant to be permanent.
Funny how Diversity is such a priority, except when black people are featured. Then, all of a sudden, no Diversity is required. If they’re going to use taxpayer money to erect such monuments, then they should be inclusive.
Update: I was able to get through to the Portland Park Department, and they knew nothing of the monument. I was told that the city had nothing to do with it.
Reblogged this on brendon2016.
I would guess that this is the one monument in Portland you’d get prosecuted for vandalizing.
You probably wouldn’t survive that far; the mob would lynch you before it got that far.
