Mexican media versus American media

Though I’ve written about this before, my convictions were confirmed during my stay in Mexico:  The Mexican media is extremely Eurocentric.  Generally speaking, brown people are shown on Mexican T.V. only when the program is specifically about them, if they’re showing a documentary about indigenous peoples for example.  Little Mayan girls play with their “Little Momma” dolls – which are blond-haired and blue-eyed.  Billboards depict white people using the products they are trying to sell.  Even murals on schools often show white children.  The contrast between the white world of Mexican media, and the brown world of reality, is striking.
Equally striking is the difference between native Mexican programming and the Spanish-dubbed American programs.  The latter are just as obviously Afrocentric as the former are Eurocentric.  Even during the few minutes I watched T.V. while waiting for a bus, I saw several grotesque examples of anti-white/pro-black bias in an American program.  Regular watchers of T.V. usually become so inured to this anti-white bias that they typically don’t even notice it anymore.  For me, however, it’s obvious, blatant – and insulting.
This toxic mix of television programming propaganda can only warp the attitudes of the Mexican public.   Some native Mexicans might develop a disdain for their own race while believing that “El Norte” is composed of about 50% evil, stupid, white people and 50% wise, virtuous, black people.  Others might conclude that whites in Mexico are persecuting the brown natives, while whites in the U.S. are persecuting the black former slaves.  In both cases, they would hold whites to be contemptible people.
The poison vomited out by their televisions, into their homes, might be mitigated somewhat by regular doses of reality from their relatives in the U.S., who report what things are really like.  Unfortunately, I do not believe this is enough; for most people, a fictional television program is just as real as what they see on the streets.
People are gullible, Mexicans at least as much as others.  Look how they bought into Christianity.  It was the religion of those who conquered them, enslaved them, persecuted them and marginalized them.  It features a man sporting long blond hair.  Yet, from what I saw, it is the indigenous Mexicans who are the most devout Christians.  It’s a good thing the Arabs didn’t conquer Mexico.
It could be said that the two most popular creeds in Mexico are that of the white Jesus (and his virgin mother) and the brown Coca-Cola.  Both are heavily marketed – and both are accepted, by Mexicans, as gospel.  Jesus made them docile and Coca-Cola made them fat.  How convenient.
In my travels within Mexico, almost all the people around me were Mexicans.  I had no problem with this; after all, it’s Mexico.  It was disconcerting to me, however, that my flight from Houston to Portland was also about half Mexican.  Will we need to subjugate them, and convert them, again to make them more manageable?  If so, I’d rather they are sold Jesus with Coca-Cola and not some other, more violent, alternative.

Mayan being spoken

Some people claim that Mayan, in its various dialects, is still a healthy language with a rosy future.  For example, here is a tour guide in Uxmal describing the state of his language (at my request):
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgr7gEoeX5c&w=420&h=315]
We dragged this man out of a bar in Oxkutzcab.  On his table were many large, and empty, bottles of cheap beer.  Here he describes (apparently) a trip he once made to California.  This man speaks Mayan daily with his friends and family.
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfJmyYte9ss&w=420&h=315]
Here is a little girl reciting something in Mayan at Chichen Itza.  Even to my untrained ear, it is obvious that her pronunciation is off, and heavily influenced by the Spanish she speaks all the time.  Her ancestral tongue is something the old folks speak, something she studies in school and a way to make extra money off tourists like myself.  I did buy some of her wares.  Fake Mayan for tourists is better than no Mayan at all.

I'm back from vacation!

Okay dear readers.  Now I’ll let y’all in on my secret:  I wasn’t just taking a vacation from blogging; I was actually taking a vacation – to the Yucatan.  The circumstances of this vacation were a bit unusual and its timing was not my choice.   In any event, I very much enjoyed myself and learned lots of new things, both about Yucatan/the Maya and Mexico in general.
I now have a pretty good idea why most Mexicans are chubby.  When they get thirsty, they think “soda” or “beer”.  I saw very few Mexicans drinking water, nor did I see them drinking diet soda.  Of course many Americans are fat too, but I think more Americans are aware that Coca-Cola can make you fat.  I also think more Americans are concerned about it, even if they’re not concerned enough to make changes to their life-style.  I may be way off here, but I got the impression that most Mexicans seem to consider being chubby as just a fact of life, not to be questioned and not to fret over.
If you like to travel, you should be concerned with your overall physical fitness; it’s important if you want to do things like climb pyramids, take long hikes, scuba dive or explore caves – some of the things I enjoyed over there.
I made efforts to explore, and experience as much as possible, the Mayan culture.  Contrary to what some people may say, the Mayan language is dying.  From what I saw, only the older folk still speak Mayan.  All the kids seem to speak Spanish.  I did hear one little girl recite something in Mayan for us tourists – but even I could tell that her accent was off and it was mostly for show.  I did drag one older man from a bar to have him tell a story in Mayan.  I can upload it to YouTube and link to it here if any of you want to hear it.
There is very little concern for safety in Mexico, at least by American standards.  Here, look at this:

Yes, the truck was moving when I took the photo.
The people were friendly overall.  I met some very special people, both local and foreigners.  The food was good.  Of course, food hygiene isn’t observed there as it is in the U.S.  Fortunately, I did not get sick.
It’s a lot easier for Spanish-only speakers in the U.S. than it is for English-only speakers in Mexico.  It is difficult to find English speakers outside of the tourist areas.  There is no “for English, press two” on the phone systems.
Would I recommend the “Mexican Riviera” for others to visit?  Absolutely!  Crime did not seem to be a problem (though I did see truckloads of masked soldiers now and then), it’s cheap (as long as you avoid the expensive hotels; a decent room can be gotten for $30 or less in most places and without advance reservations) and it’s not too far away.  I plan on visiting again; aside from dolphins and iguanas, I missed the wildlife.
Aside from enjoying myself, I got lots of fodder for this blog.

Taking my bloggers' vacation

Those of you who are not bloggers might not be aware of the fact that bloggers get two weeks vacation per year.  HBD bloggers get a bit more since our work is so demanding.  Anyway,  I’m taking some of that vacation these days and that’s why you’ve seen so little of me.  But not to worry!  Most of my posts are not of the current-event variety and they can be read, and enjoyed any time.  So feel free to use this hiatus to go back and explore older posts.  Feel free to comment on them if you’d like.  I’m notified each time a comment is made.

Two vicious black interracial crimes

Thanks to Robert Lindsay, we learned about the the attack, by two sorry-excuses-for-humanity, on one diminutive mentally retarded non-black woman.  Here is the YouTube video of that attack, if you can stomach it:
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRoSWYGzxAE&w=560&h=315]
… and then there was the recent attack, also by two sorry-excuses-for-humanity, on one diminutive Asian senior citizen.  Here is the Fox News coverage of that incident.
In the past, when most people lived in small communities, this sort of crime would have been less common.  Everybody knew everybody else and perpetrators had few places to hide.  They would also suffer grave consequences when caught.  While I am not in favor of surveillance cameras at every corner, they do seem to offset some of the anonymity our large cities offer to criminals.  In other cases, low I.Q. criminals voluntarily give up their anonymity by posting their crimes online – or allowing their friends to do so, as in the first case.  But it is doubtful that any number of cameras can make up for the tendency of feral young black males to prey upon the weak, especially of other races.  Segregation is the best protection against them.  Let blacks have their own areas and establishments, and let whites have ours.
We cannot know if the mothers, who turned in their own sons, would have done so even if they thought their sons could have gotten away with it – for example, if there had been no video footage of their crime.  It should be noted that, as usual, there were no fathers involved.  Though it has been stated a million times already, I’ll say it again.  Leftist, welfare-state, policies have made the criminal proclivities of blacks much worse than they need to be.  This is true with “foreign aid” to Africa and it is true with the inner cities of the West.  Whites should simply leave blacks alone and allow them to solve their own problems.  In the end, everybody would be better off that way.

"Anchor baby" is now a "derogatory" term

American Heritage Dictionary recently amended its definition of the term “anchor baby” to describe it as being “offensive” and “derogatory”:

Steven Kleinedler, executive director of the American Heritage Dictionary, took note when Immigration Policy Center criticized its definition of “anchor baby.”
Kleinedler says American heritage will tweak the definition of the phrase for the third printing of the dictionary’s Fifth Edition by noting that it is an offensive and derogatory term. He acknowledges that it “should have been done in the first place.”

Perhaps they should also change the name of their book to “Mexican Heritage Dictionary” while they’re at it.  I have already pointed out that it makes little sense to stigmatize a term as “offensive” if there is no acceptable alternative.  It is the same here.  The word “cracker” is offensive to some people – and “white” is the acceptable alternative.  “Nigger” is offensive to others – and “black” is the acceptable alternative.  When the Left wants us to ignore a phenomenon, it offers no acceptable term to describe it.  How does one say “mulatto” in Leftese?  “Mixed race” is not the same thing.  What is the acceptable term for “welfare mom/queen”?  Similarly, without going into an actual description, how are we supposed to say “anchor baby”?  They do not expect us to say “a baby that was born in the U.S. for the purpose of establishing…” each time.  No, they expect us to ignore it altogether.
A commenter (Restitutiontouscitizensfirst) on the above-cited blog makes this point very well:

Sorry but not all “Americans” find the term offensive in the least.  If you need to label this as “offensive” perhaps you need to label exactly which people find the term “offensive.”  Then you need to change the title of your book because it is no longer accurate.  I was taught not to criticize unless I can offer positive solutions – where is the alternate “acceptable term being presented?  So when the feminists pointed out that labeling a woman’s availability with the titles Mrs. or Miss was offensive and really nobody’s business they proposed a new title, Ms., which allows the woman to conduct her business without the entanglements created by the other labels.  I expect no less from the complainers about the term “anchor baby.”

The Oregonian admits possible correlation between brain size and intelligence

The Left has argued for years that there is no meaningful correlation between brain size and intelligence.  Though science, and common sense, say otherwise, there has been an ongoing campaign to misinform and confuse the public in this matter.
Nobody claims that absolute brain size is a sign of greater intelligence; if this were the case, then elephants and whales would be far more intelligent than humans.  Body size must be taken into consideration.  Furthermore, nobody claims that there is a perfect correlation either; some people with large brains will be stupid, and some people with small brains will be geniuses.  Nevertheless, there is a robust correlation, somewhere in the neighborhood of .4.
The reason the Left is so loath to admit this correlation is that it means that any discovery of average brain size differences between the races would present a challenge to their beliefs.  Just as the rabbis of old built a fence around the Torah, reasoning that if Jews obeyed rabbinical injunctions, they would be less likely to transgress against actual Torah commandments, so too does the Left build fences around their faith.  In this case, they both deny that there are brain size differences (taking body size into account) between the races and that such differences can be a smoking gun for actual I.Q. differences.  Building these fences makes them feel safe and secure in their faith.
However, a recent Oregonian article (from 12/13/11, as of today not yet available online) does admit, indirectly, that brain size can be correlated with intelligence – at least among cabbies!

Street smarts help cabbies’ brains grow

London taxi drivers aren’t like the rest of us.  Researchers have known for more than a decade that these elite cabbies – who train for years to master “the knowledge,” a mental map of 25,000 streets – have a larger than average rear hippocampus, a brain region linked to learning and navigation.

What scientists didn’t know was whether the drivers grew bigger hippocampi as they trained or whether they had big ones (and thus an innate navigation advantage) to begin with.  So a team followed three groups:  trainees who successfully acquired the Knowledge and became cabbies; trainees who failed to qualify; and a control group of non-taxi drivers; over four years, testing them and scanning their brains before, during and after training.

The team found that the brains of qualifying trainees were no different from those of nonqualifying trainees or non-taxi drivers before beginning training.  But as the cabbies learned the Knowledge, their hippocampi grew, literally changing their minds…

The hippocampi of unsuccessful trainees stayed the same throughout, which could suggest that successful cabbies really do have an innate advantage:  Their brains are more malleable than others’.

The mainstream media does have a lot of faith in the stupidity of the masses, that they are unable to put two and two together.  I fear that they may be right.  The masses need bigger brains.

Two recent "enrichment" incidents in Europe

A career criminal by the name of Nordine Amrani, probably not a native European, tossed grenades off a building in Belgium.  Four are dead (including two teenagers) and dozens are wounded.

Meanwhile, a charity carol event in Britain, was interrupted by enrichers from the Congo, when they chose to vent their frustrations at corruption back home by attacking cancer patients:

Shops were attacked, passers-by threatened and car windows smashed during a demonstration in central London against the election result in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The carol concert was raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support. It was organised by a group of friends whose loved ones had been treated for cancer.
Masked teenage boys ‘stormed’ the singers, throwing bottles of water and hot drinks into the crowd. A woman in her 40s, said to be undergoing treatment for breast cancer, was pulled to the ground. A youth attempted to set light to the Christmas tree, an annual gift from the city of Oslo since 1947, one witness said.

I don’t like being negative.  I really don’t.  I would much rather fill this blog with pictures of cute babies, puppies and happy families frolicking in the sun.  Maybe I’ll post about those topics another day.  But don’t blame me; blame the forces of evil that unleashed hordes of bloodthirsty savages upon the unsuspecting people of the formerly civilized world.

Emma West

When I first saw the story of Emma West, the young mother of two who spoke her mind against third-world immigration in a British tram, my heart ached for her.  Yet my comment on the American Renaissance article was one of criticism for her vulgar language and grudging support for her sentiments.
After some reflection, I have changed my mind and I regret having taking that stance.  Other commenters had pointed out that such language is normal for working class Londoners, and that the Left is wont to use language at least as vulgar.  Besides, somebody has to publicly speak their mind and break the ice of silence over the invasion of Britain.
Whatever flaws there may have been in West’s delivery of her message, at this point she deserves the unflagging support of all of us.  A comment, by “Free Ema West” on Mangan’s blog, reads:

Britain First (britainfirst.org) seems to be the main spot for organized support for Emma West. You can send messages of support to her and messages of protest to the authorities through their site.
For those that would like send support directly to her, see this post:

For your convenience, here is her direct contact information:

My letter of support, along with a check, is already on its way.  Along with whatever legal expenses she will incur, she will also probably have to move.  She will need money, so I urge all of you to send her some money according to your ability.  If not, at least send her a Christmas card.  Don’t forget that, if you’re sending it from outside Britain, the postal rates are higher – so don’t just affix a stamp and drop it in the mail.  Make sure there is enough postage.  Also, given the lack of freedom of speech in Britain, it might be a good idea to use only general words of encouragement; don’t rant about immigration or directly support what she did to get locked up.  The authorities might confiscate the letter and she would never see it.  If somebody knows otherwise, please correct me on this.
