"Mainstream media" beginning to backtrack on Martin shooting

Two recent articles caught my eye today. Both presented a balanced view and admitted to the facts in a way previously only in the blogosphere.
One, by Dylan Stableford of The Cutline (featured on Yahoo) reads, in part:

“With a single punch,” the Orlando Sentinel, citing police sources, reported Monday, “Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer … climbed on top of [him] and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered.”
“That is the account Zimmerman gave police,” the paper said, “and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.”
Zimmerman’s attorney, Craig Sonner, says that Zimmerman acted in self-defense and is not a racist as some have portrayed him.
“I think we need to let the investigation come forward and let all the facts in this case come out,” Sonner said on the “Today” show. “I think it’s going to tell a different story than the way it’s been related and portrayed in the media.”…
“The media is getting the Trayvon Martin story wrong,” Michael Brendan Dougherty wrote on BusinessInsider.com, comparing it to the 2006 Duke lacrosse case, in which three members of the lacrosse team were accused of rape, resulting in a media firestorm and public outcry. The accuser’s case unraveled, and the charges were eventually dropped.
“Oh how little we have learned,” David Shane wrote on PolicyMic.com. The media has rushed to judgment yet again. Now, it’s quite possible that Zimmerman is guilty of everything his worst foes accuse him of. There is plenty about this case that troubles me. But that’s exactly the point—I don’t know. Neither does anyone else, and both the scope and tone of the media coverage ought to reflect that fact.”

Another story (also on Yahoo) reads:

“The media has been quick to demonize George, but Trayvon Martin was no angelic boy walking,” Meza said.

Zimmerman’s attorney, Craig Sonner, has said in more than one interview that his client’s nose was broken during the fight with Martin.

The Orlando Sentinel has reported that Martin grabbed Zimmerman’s head and banged it several times against the sidewalk. Sonner said the gash on the back of Zimmerman’s head probably was serious enough for stitches, but he waited too long for treatment so the wound was already healing.

Zimmerman said he began crying for help; Martin’s family thinks it was their son who was crying out. Witness accounts differ and 911 tapes in which the voices are heard are not clear. A statement from Sanford police said the newspaper’s story was “consistent” with evidence turned over to prosecutors.

Martin was at least 6-feet, several inches taller than the 5-foot-9 Zimmerman. Meza said Martin was not the child he appears to be in photos flashed across television and newspapers.

But I have a nagging suspicion, given their track-record, that the main motivation for this backtracking is the realization that Zimmerman was not white. When organizations such as the Associated Press, Yahoo and the New York Times start reporting such incidents fairly even when whites are involved, at that point I might believe that they’re repenting from their evil ways.

HBD Day

Olave d’Estienne has suggested there be an annual HBD Day. Here is some of what he wrote, in an email to me:

I propose that race realists launch an international Human Biodiversity Day.  The idea would be to discuss HBD issues in new and different venues, preferably running the gamut from African IQ deficits and criminality to the ability that Asians can healthily carry more body fat than other groups (as mentioned in Mr. Sailer’s “Is Love Colorblind?” article).
Some suggestions for rank-and-file race realists who want to observe Human Biodiversity Day:
A.  In a setting where you race realism isn’t tolerated, just ask acquaintances casually if they know what “HBD Day” is.  Just say you have no idea what it stands for and wondered if anyone knew.
B.  Use the day as a time to politely bring up HBD questions on mainstream conservative sites.  No site should be bombed with an overwhelming number of messages, but as many as possible should get an HBD post from more than one race realist.
C.  Make race realist comments on mainstream news articles (AP, etc.) on the web, especially racially tendentious ones (asserting, e.g., that if a black person is accused of a crime it must be a false accusation).
D.  Broach the subject in a low-key way to trusted friends, sort of like “coming out day” for race realists.
Suggestions:
Our manner should be dispassionate, not angry or tongue-in-cheek, and emphasizing publicly-available statistics like victimization reports and standardized test scores…

Which day should be HBD Day? He writes:

What day?
Since May 1st is International Workers’ Day, and since race denialism is designed to shore up the affirmative action and immigration that are hurting the white working class so much, I suggest May 2nd as the obvious day to symbolize a sort of “new and improved” May Day.  Other days may also be suitable.

My initial reaction is that I like the idea. We can print up “Celebrate HBD Day” t-shirts and bumper-stickers. It would give us an excuse to celebrate, and be positive about,  something we often feel negative about. Celebrating it just before Cinco de Mayo would help give the masses a helpful perspective to that holiday. We might even be able to leverage it to our advantage.

Selected photos from my Tennessee/Kentucky trip

I love visiting the South. I enjoy the history, what remains of the culture, and the dialects. For a while it was an independent country, but living relics of that country are getting harder and harder to come by. Even stone monuments are being removed – for he who controls the past controls the present and it wasn’t enough to simply subjugate the Southern people, powerful forces are working to erase all vestiges of the Old South.
I make no claims that the Old South was perfect, but this doesn’t mean I cannot take interest in what remains of it. I spent about two days in Kentucky, and a brief drive through Nashville, after the latest American Renaissance conference. I’ll share some of the photos with y’all.
The biggest attraction in Kentucky was Mammoth Caves, the largest cave system in the world.

Even at Mammoth Caves, we are not permitted to forget the “legacy of slavery” or the “African-American/Hispanic experience”.

At least there were no claims that black slaves built the caves, or that ancient Africans were the first to discover them. But here’s something you don’t see every day:

“IKA” stands for “Imperial Klans of America“. I chose not to trespass. Here’s a view inside:

And here is the road leading to the compound:

Don’t ask how I knew where it was – but it wasn’t far from an old cemetery. You don’t see tombstones like these much anymore:

Those people were clearly very poor. Here’s an old schoolhouse:

And a couple of nice buildings in Nashville:

Previews of some of the Amren 2012 speeches

In the near future, American Renaissance will offer high-quality DVDs of the 2012 conference speeches. In order to avoid undermining their sales, I am only publishing the first few minutes of the speeches I recorded. Unfortunately, I did not have the presence of mind to record the first two speeches, those of Weissberg and Kurtagic.
Here they are:

National outcry over killing of black thug by Hispanic

A Hispanic man killed a black thug in self-defense and the nation is inundated with news stories telling us how the “victim”, Trayvon Martin, was a martyr, murdered for the color of his skin. The media frenzy features photos of Trayvon, taken years ago, showing him as an innocent teen. The president speaks out in outrage, equating Trayvon with his own son – if he had one. Marches are organized in Trayvon’s honor and there is talk of pursuing hate-crime charges against the shooter, 28-year-old George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is half Hispanic, but the media immediately called him “white”. Then, when it became known he is only half-white, they started calling him “white Hispanic”. Very creative.
Shortly thereafter, three young blacks entered Mississippi State University and shot 21-year-old John Sanderson to death. Here is his photo:

Here is a selection from the above article:

University president Mark Keenum said Sunday in a statement on the school’s website that there was no indication that there was a danger to others. Keenum says the killing of 21-year-old John Sanderson of Madison, Miss., was the first time a student had been shot on the campus.
Authorities have said three men suspected in the Saturday night shooting drove away from the building in a blue Ford Crown Victoria. As of late Sunday morning, no arrests had been made.

The race of the perpetrators is noticeably absent but when Reuters first broke the story, this is what they said:

Authorities described the suspects as three black males who fled the hall in a late model blue Crown Victoria car.

Yahoo continues to make sure that the Martin story dominates their front page, but they had only one (very short) story about the murder of John Sanderson – and the fact that he was white was not even mentioned. Even that story disappeared from Yahoo after an hour or two. As of this writing there is no trace of it. News outlets that are covering it are downplaying it, calling it an “isolated incident”. Furthermore, they will either mention that the suspects are black, or show a photo of the (white) victim – but they shy away from letting their readers know all the facts. No “civil rights” organizations have spoken up about it, the president remains silent about it and there is no talk of hate-crime charges.
Given the relentless, and biased, coverage of the Martin story, it is very possible that Sanderson was murdered as revenge. It doesn’t take much to make blacks riot. It doesn’t take much to provoke them to spill blood. It is no stretch to say that the “mainstream media” is partly responsible for the death of Sanderson.
UPDATE: The death toll has now risen to two. Two white students, with their whole lives ahead of them, gunned down by worthless animals.

U.K. crackdown on freedom of speech reaches new extreme

Things are really getting out of hand in the U.K. The government’s intolerance toward “hate-speech” has reached new extremes lately. We are used to reading about native Brits having their lives ruined for speaking up about the invasion of their country. We’ve heard hundreds of stories about Christians running afoul of hate-speech laws for objecting to Muslim cultural idiosyncrasies.
But this takes the cake: A Muslim teen has been arrested for comments he made on facebook:

According to Sky News, Azhar Ahmed of Ravensthorpe (19) posted comments on his profile page, criticizing the level of attention British soldiers who died in a bomb blast received, compared to that received by Afghan civilians killed in the war. The actual comment can be viewed here. Please note this comment is controversial and might offend. He was arrested on Friday and charged over the weekend. A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “He didn’t make his point very well and that is why he has landed himself in bother.” Ahmed has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence and will appear at Dewsbury Magistrates Court on 20 March 2011.

Imagine that! A Muslim getting arrested for a “racially aggravated public order offence”. Look for public apologies and soul-searching from the West Yorkshire police department in the near future. Somebody will probably lose his job over this.
You can read his entire comment here. Personally, I think the government is out of line arresting him. He’s entitled to his opinion – but I do not believe he is entitled to live in the U.K. I wish we could make a deal: Let Western nations remove all their troops from third-world countries, and let all third-world people be removed from Western countries. Everybody would be happier in the end.

Photos from the 2012 American Rennaisance conference

Lighting conditions in the conference room were less than optimal for my point-and-shoot camera. But I shall post some of the photos, of the various speakers, that I took anyway.

The implicit whiteness of hats

There was a time, not long ago, when ladies and gentlemen would rarely leave their homes bare-headed. Over the course of centuries, hat styles have evolved, but it is the hats of living memory that seem to hold the greatest nostalgic value. But the donning of hats, along with most of the other trappings of formal white culture, fell victim to the deculturization of whites in this century in favor of “diversity”.
There are several theories that try to explain the decline of hats, but I’m more interested in understanding why they’re coming back. Specifically, I’m interested in why they’re coming back among whites. Among blacks, at least ghetto blacks, the dress hat is a statement that says “I be pimpin”. The same hat, worn by a (non-wigger) young white person, might express a subconscious yearning to be proudly white – just like his ancestors. There is a strong link between the donning of a formal hat, by a white person, and his white identity.
Such is the link between the wearing of formal-style hats, and whiteness, that a business that caters mainly to whites has only one way to depict whites, exclusively, in its advertisements without being accused of “racism”: It must show them as “ye olde whites”. Such whites are shown wearing hats of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Trader Joe’s is famous for this.
Hats are indeed coming back among whites. Willamette Weekly recently had a photo essay called “Feathers in Caps“. That hats are now commonly worn by the younger, white, crowd would be too obvious to devote an article to, so they specifically featured the feathers some choose to adorn their hats with.
Of course non-ghetto blacks also wear formal-style hats, but (except for some older blacks) they are few in number. I do not believe that the average hat-wearing black is making the same statement as the average hat-wearing white. A black, by virtue of his very features, expresses his blackness. He is taught, from a young age, to be proud of it. But a white person is taught to be ashamed of his whiteness. So if he wishes to express it in a positive way, he must dress in code. I believe the formal hat is just such a code – and I love the way it looks on them.

My Confederate hat experiment

After the conference I spent a couple of days in Kentucky, visiting Mammoth Caves and exploring the rural areas. While there, I bought a cap featuring the Confederate battle flag. Because of the amount of effort the armies of darkness (the Left) put into banning the rebel flag, I consider it a symbol of freedom of speech. Whether or not one can wear it is a litmus test of our liberties in the U.S.
A lot of people wear the rebel flag every day and think nothing of it. But I’m from the Northwest, where it is considered unacceptable and offensive. On my return trip, I visited four airports: Nashville, Dallas, Seattle and Portland. I’m pleased to say that nobody seemed to be bothered by it in Nashville; there was even one other man wearing a rebel t-shirt. He was a Yankee like me, though of Southern roots. In Dallas I got one or two looks from people waiting to travel to Seattle, but nobody said anything. People were especially kind to me in Seattle, but then again, that’s the way most people are there anyway. I did get a couple of “how can you wear that” looks in Seattle, but again, nobody said anything. There were no reactions in Portland – but I was only there a few minutes.
Taken together with our successful conference, I conclude that we still have our freedom of speech. Let’s use it!

Amren update #3

We ended the conference with speeches by David Yeagley and, as usual, Sam Dickson. Every single speaker did an oustanding job and the conference was a great success. We had about 150 people. Notably absent were Don Black and his crowd. They might not have felt comfortable anyway, given the copious love and admiration that each speaker showered upon Jews – a bit too much for my comfort personally.
Jared Taylor asked the audience if we wanted to use the same venue in the future. Given the friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and nice accommodations, we made it clear that the answer was “yes”.
Now that the conference is behind us, I’m spending another couple of days exploring this part of the South. When I get home, I’ll share some photos and videos. I did record some of the speaches in entirety, but because they will be made available for a fee through Amren, I’ll release only small sections of them.
