The Left Cannibalizes Leftist Institutions

According to Mediagov, “Institutional Racism” is pervasive in America, where white-supremacy reigns supreme, and the good-ol’-boys continue to conspire to keep the Negro down.

Of course, the opposite is true – as has already been documented numerous times on this blog. The only “institutional racism” in America is against whites, in the form of Affirmative Action, “goals” and threats of lawsuits for failure to comply.

So what’s an angry mob to do? It seems that the answer is to indiscriminately destroy whatever happens to be at hand. This makes sense, if we bear in mind that angry BLMers truly believe that practically all American institutions are white-supremacist in nature – at least if they are run by white people.

Museums (presumably including “historical societies”) are run by white people, and patronized by white people, so why not vandalize them?

PORTLAND, ORE. — Leaders and members of the Indigenous community spoke out Monday against the violence and destruction that occurred in downtown Portland on the eve of Indigenous Peoples Day.

Online, the planned event was promoted as “Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage.” Portland is one of several US cities that recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day, however, the day is recognized federally as Columbus Day.

“The fact that someone would hijack Indigenous People’s Day and cause more violence is not appropriate. It’s not appropriate for any of these situations,” said Rep. Tawna Sanchez, of Shoshone-Bannock, Ute, and Carrizo descent, who represents North and Northeast Portland…

Rep. Sanchez said the Oregon Historical Society has been working with Oregon tribes to ensure their history is told through their own perspective.

“The destruction of the Oregon Historical Society in any way shape or form is unconscionable because that place, amazingly, is part of the actual truth,” Sanchez said.

The article goes on to say that the Indigenous community also denounced the violence downtown in general terms, stating that “this is not how we do things.”

Good for the Indigenous people for speaking up about this… but I’d like to know if they’d taken a stand against the mayhem from the beginning, or if it only matters to them when it affects an institution that’s friendly to their interests. Native Americans who participated in the protests were shocked that these “protests” included breaking windows, burning things and otherwise destroying businesses and property.

I find it hard to believe that they didn’t know this was going on before. As they say, “Silence is Violence.”

The rioters attacked the Historical Society (presumably) because they simply assumed that it was just another white-supremacist institution. Had they done their research beforehand, they would have realized that there are no brick-and-morter white-supremacists institutions in America. The Elk wasn’t racist, the street signs aren’t racist, the police aren’t racist, the statues aren’t racist – and the Historical Society isn’t racist. But they feel the urge to vent their anger on something.

In another KATU2 article, we read about an “African-American commemorative quilt” that was damaged in the riots:

PORTLAND, Ore. — Along with multiple downtown businesses, the Oregon Historical Society was damaged during an overnight riot.

The society said Monday a commemorative quilt was taken from the building.

“There was one item that was on display in the pavilion. It was a beautiful African American heritage bicentennial quilt that was made by 15 African American women in this community,” said OHS Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk…

Tymchuk said the quilt has traveled around the country and each of its squares represents a Black individual or moment in history. He said the quilt was found by police a few blocks away soaking wet.

“It’s a priceless piece of history here,” Tymchuk said.

The article doesn’t mention any outrage from Portland’s black community, nor am I aware of any black leaders proclaiming that “this is not how we do things.”

If I were to ask random black people, on the streets of Portland, I’m sure most would be unaware of the above incidents. Most would agree that such actions are not productive – but where is the outcry?

Sons of Liberty join us for Back the Blue

Yesterday was a chilly, overcast and rainy day, so I didn’t expect much of a turnout at our Back the Blue rally.

It soon became apparent that I was wrong; I would estimate that there were around 100 people there. What a pleasant surprise! It was explained to me that the City of Portland had just removed the primitive elk statue that had temporarily replaced the historic one.

This was after BLM rioters had burned the original one at least twice, and turned the site into a makeshift BLM shrine – since it stands directly across from the Justice Center, which BLM rioters had been attacking nightly.

In short, it had become just another BLM eyesore in the heart of Portland. Now that we had the numbers, the morale, and the ability to defend ourselves, some of our Sons of Liberty guests took it upon themselves to bring a pickup truck, and haul away all the BLM garbage:

Afterwards, some of us marched to the site where Aaron Danielson was murdered. The plan was to simply stand there, hold flags and place a new small flag on his memorial tree. Of course, Antifa showed up to start trouble. It was our original intent to remain there for only about an hour, so after a while, we made an ordered departure. One of the Antifa had sprayed some pepper spray in our direction at one point; none of us wanted a showdown such as we had last week.

Is there BLM in Nigeria?

Taking corporate media reports at face value, we would get the impression that it’s white police officers who are guilty of police brutality. These “news” outlets give the distinct impression that the world would be a better place without white people.

And yet the steaming pile of bovine feces, otherwise known as CNN, reports that police brutality is a major problem in Nigeria, which is almost 100% black. From Microsoft News:

Nigeria’s leading celebrities and activists have organized mass protests across major cities in the country Friday demanding an end to police brutality in the country.

The nationwide protests were a culmination of weeks of anger and outcry online by the country’s young people over claims of kidnapping, harassment and extortion by a police unit known as the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS)…

‘Nothing will happen if I shoot you,’

The hashtag #EndSARS, #StopPolicebrutality has continued to trend on Twitter as young people shared their stories, photos and videos that they allege show men in Nigeria police uniforms searching their cars and harassing them.

Lagos-based entrepreneur Samuel Otigba told CNN he has had several encounters with members of the police that he believes to be from the SARS unit. He said the encounters usually begin with requests for bribes. Otigba alleges that in May, he got into trouble because he declined to give a bribe to one of the officers when he was stopped after an evening out with his wife.

He says his phone was searched and he was threatened by the officer who told him, “You know if I shoot you, nothing will happen. The highest anyone will do is cry justice on Twitter.”

Life is cheap in Africa, at least compared to the West, so this is not surprising. Nevertheless, I wish the Nigerians well, and hope they succeed in addressing this problem.

What truly shocked me is the fact that CNN didn’t try to pin the blame on white racism. Had the authors been white, they would probably be subject to corrective action, or firing, for failing to link the abuse to whites. But all three authors are black Nigerians – so they probably have nothing to fear.

What Shall we do in the Future?

Lately, I’ve been contemplating the future, what it holds for us and how we should adapt. Since I’ve got a pessimistic streak, let us assume that Joe Biden wins the presidential election, and that Portland’s mayoral election is won by Sarah Iannarone, who is self-described Antifa.

As y’all know, I’ve been active in the local “Back the Blue” movement. I’ll briefly reiterate my reasons for doing so:

  1. I have a low tolerance for the demonization of any natural/neutral demographic. Seeing graffiti that says “Kill Cops” and “ACAB” (All Cops are Bastards) was enough to motivate me to push back.
  2. I wanted the social interaction, and the opportunity to make new friends with people who are reasonably close to my own politics.
  3. I felt it necessary to provide public opposition to the BLM cult that has gripped much of the country; I oppose mass hysteria and group-think.
  4. I enjoy pissing off libtards.
  5. It’s a step in the right direction as far as white-advocacy, implicit as it is.

My actual support for the police is luke-warm. Sure, most of them seem to be nice people, and my interactions with them have been mostly positive. But, by nature, they are tools of the government – and I don’t particularly like the government. The police are charged with enforcing the law, and many laws are unjust.

If Iannarone becomes mayor, it’s likely that councilwoman Jo Ann Hardesty will be Portland’s police commissioner. In that case, the police will end up as enforcers of “social justice,” In other words, they’ll be the governmental arm of Antifa.

Should we continue to “Back the Blue” then? Many Back the Blue activists are family members of police officers. They’ll probably continue their activism. As for the rest of us, probably not.

We will lack any support, or protection, from local government. With Biden as president, our “thin blue line” at the Federal level will also be gone. If we’re lucky, the Supreme Court might still recognize our rights – for a while.

Supporting the police, at least for me, is not an end in itself; it’s more of an expression of an overall philosophy: Support of law and order and the natural order of things. “Conservatism” if you will. When that cause becomes untenable, other outlets must be sought.

The group I associate with is largely Christian. If they were to become alienated from the police, many of them will protest abortion clinics. Some might gravitate to pro-Second-Amendment activism.

In the Portland area, it seems to me that we’ll be forced to go underground, spreading our message through graffiti in the wee hours of the night, or on the sly when nobody is looking.

On the “Back the Blue” Facebook page, some are expressing the sentiment that we’ve already lost the war in Portland, that we should accept defeat and take our rallies to more friendly, outlying, areas.

The problem with this attitude can be summed up by a piece of graffiti, which happens to be scrawled across the street from the site where Aaron Danielson was murdered. It quotes MLK:

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere

Our enemies perceive our very existence as “injustice.” As long as we exist anywhere, they will follow us. Fleeing to other areas is a losing proposition. It doesn’t work for whites, and it doesn’t work for rights. We should continue the battle in Portland in such a way that we’re not beaten or killed, and continue elsewhere publicly. When I feel I’m too old to fight anymore, at that point I’ll consider moving elsewhere.

Rose City Antifa

I paid a visit to the website of Rose City Antifa to get a better idea of what they’re about. One item interested me in particular. It’s their definition of “fascism,” which can be found on the “about” page:

Fascism can be hard to define because every fascist movement is different, and the ideology itself contains many contradictory ideas. The term has also come to be used to label any idea that is authoritarian, right-wing, or even just disliked. This poses a problem for us because we think it is important to describe each movement accurately. To that end, we use a definition of fascism that is based on a cluster of traits. While each movement may not contain all these traits, we call it ‘fascist’ if it has a majority of these characteristics:

  • Ultra-nationalism, which defines the “nation” around a shared racial, ethnic, cultural, or historical identity. This excludes some members of society, and people are expected to place their allegience to the “nation” over all other identities.
  • Belief in, and a desire to return to, a past utopian vision of society. This may or may not have existed historically, and they believe it has been lost due to “corruption” or “degeneracy”.
  • Scapegoating of marginalized/oppressed groups, who are blamed for causing society’s problems and preventing a return to this ultra-nationalist utopia.
  • Advocating for, or enacting, the removal of these scapegoated groups, including by violence, genocide, and/or ethnic cleansing.
  • White supremacy and belief in racist, patriarchal hierarchies that place the nation over other groups, men above women, straight people over gay people, etc.
  • Authoritarianism, often centered around a single, charismatic leader.
  • Antisemitism. Antisemitism is central to many fascist ideologies, and this conspiritorial thinking about Jewish people provides the corner stone that supports many other racist ideas.
  • Anti-communist, anti-liberal, and anti-conservative rhetoric.
  • Opposition to Unions and other Organized Labor groups.
  • Aspiring to the complete militarization of society. This includes Paramilitary organizing and vigilantism.
  • Anti-elitist, populist rhetoric to appeal to the “common man,” coupled with internal elitism and willingness to accept support from existing elites.
  • Fascism posits itself as both a revolutionary and traditionalist politic.

Clearly, this is one of those concepts that are hard to define scientifically, but can be characterized by a combination of factors. Another example of this is the concept of “race.”

When we speak of the “Negroid race,” for example, we might approach it in much the same way Antifa approaches fascism (and I’m not referring to any negativity here). A Negro will typically…

  • Have dark skin
  • Have kinky hair
  • Be prognathous
  • Have the Sickle Cell Trait
  • Have high levels of testosterone
  • Have longer limbs
  • Have denser bones

The fact that there is no single “race gene” or litmus test to determine race, is often used (by the Left) as “evidence” that race is not a valid scientific concept.

Let’s use this same argument against Rose City Antifa: “Fascist” is not a valid political/sociological concept – because there is no accurate litmus test to identify it.

Some of the criteria on their list caught my attention. First and foremost, the statement that a fascist engages in:

Anti-communist, anti-liberal, and anti-conservative rhetoric

The “Anti-Communist” part of that would qualify most Americans, even many leftists, as “fascists” – and for good reason; Communism has been responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people in living memory. Pointing this out is not “rhetoric.”

But what about the “anti-conservative” part? My initial impression is that this was added as an attempt to deflect criticism, and to soften the first part of the statement. I suspect that they’re not sincere about it.

However, I did contact Rose City Antifa, identifying only as “a conservative” and seeking dialog. Perhaps they’ll respond. So far, they haven’t.

I also wonder about the first item on the list, the part about “ultra-nationalism.” Does it apply to black-nationalists? What about Jewish-nationalists (Zionists)? I think they only have a problem with white-nationalists or American-nationalists.

Ditto the second item, “Belief in, and a desire to return to, a past utopian vision of society.” I think Wakanda fits this description. Call it “Kumbaya-land” if you prefer. The fairy tale version of Native American life prior to the arrival of Europeans might also qualify – and this is manifested in opposition to Columbus Day, and the toppling of Columbus statues, and of many other statues depicting white settlers.

I think the part about anti-Semitism is somewhat accurate, at least when it comes to white-nationalists. Many, if not most, white-nationalists who focus on The Jewish Question (JQ) describe themselves as “fascists.” But what about the largest group of anti-Semites in the US, black anti-Semites? Does Antifa actively seek black anti-Semites in order to silence them, and to beat them up? I doubt it. Has there ever been an instance of Antifa showing up at a Nation of Islam rally to harass them and scream “Hey hey, ho ho, Farakhan has got to go!”? I don’t think so.

There’s a very useful saying among construction workers, carpenters and other craftsmen:

Measure twice and cut once

Antifa needs to think twice and attack once. For the time being, I would advise them to go home and hit the books. Then, after they’ve correcting their thinking, consider activism…

Fake News from the Right

It’s not only leftists who believe everything they’re told; right-wingers do it too. Apparently it’s a common human trait to automatically believe anything we hear that validates our worldview.

After watching this excellent video from The United Spot, I started reading through the comments and found this one:

And Biden, well he didn’t even work up a sweat over any of it, and was just too stupid to realize what he had done.

My first red flag was the poor English. Coming from a site that appears to be focused on American military operations, I found this odd… but I kept reading, and it became apparent that the article presented no evidence to the stated claim.

Then, at the very end of the not-very-long article, we find an “update” in bold stating that the initial claim turned out to be false, and citing some media sources to that effect.

There were ten responses to that comment, and not one of the authors had bothered to actually read the article in the link, at least not until its conclusion. Not one of them noticed the poor English, or that the site seems suspicious.

Be careful out there folks. Don’t believe claims you hear, or read, just because those claims happen to align with your political beliefs. It’s possible that the authors wrote the source article with the specific goal of entrapping conservatives, to use their gullibility against them.

I want to clarify that I have no idea whether the claim itself is correct. My point is that the so-called “evidence” cited in the comment was bogus, and people fell for it without any skepticism.

Antifa hysteria in Portland

After our Back the Blue rally today, which was uneventful, a few Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer guys led us to the spot where Aaron Danielson was murdered in September. One of the men (Chandler Pappas) was a personal friend of Danielson, and wanted to hold a memorial service/public protest against Oregon prosecutors.

Here’s part of the speech (turn up the volume on the first one):

Shortly after that, Antifa showed up (start at about 3:27 to see the assaults):

I wasn’t able to capture some of their most outrageous conduct. For example, one of the Antifa, encouraged by the others, actually climbed the tree, removed the flags etc. placed there in memory of Danielson, and burned the flag on the street.

At that point, Chandler became very upset, and chased after the culprit. It’s hard to blame him; Danielson and Chandler were together that fateful night, and Chandler was right there when his friend was murdered. What kind of “person” tears down a memorial to a murdered man, and burns it on the street in front of the surviving friend? After this happened, there was a commotion, as they all disappeared, running, down the street. I was worried about Chandler.

A few minutes later, he returned. He had been pepper-sprayed in the face and was in pain. We sheltered him from the mob and some of his buddies tended to him. Somebody called the police at that point. A couple of us were using US flags to provide some privacy, and one Antifa kept trying to set my flag on fire. He kept moving his lighter up to the flag, and I kept moving it away. He seemed to think it was some kind of game.

Is setting fire to a flag someone is holding considered “assault?” I’m not a lawyer, and so many legal questions come up in such situations. Unfortunately, this means our hands are tied as far as defending ourselves; no matter what we do, it will be scrutinized later by the courts; every excuse will be made to prosecute us.

There were a couple of times when Antifa barked at me, and tried to get a response from me. I refused to respond, or acknowledge them in any way. Also, I was able to walk past them a few times, and nobody assaulted me, though they did hurl unkind words at me.

When the police showed up, they remained about a block away. I showed them the first video, and helped file an assault report. I don’t think anything will come of it, and when I pointed the culprit out, to the police later, I was told that they are not making any arrests. After a few minutes, the police left, with us on one side of the street, and Antifa on the other – as Antifa tried to intimidate us and throw things at us. One hysterical man came at one of the Proud Boys trying to start a fight.

While the police were still there, and Antifa was opposite us, I unfurled my “Antifa Loves Cops” sign, and my new “C’mon Man! Back the Blue” sign. The howls from Antifa were priceless – along with smiles from the police.

Each time one of Antifa tried to start a fight, others would eventually come over and try to pull him away – so not all of them were interested in violence. Certainly, none of us were.

In such confrontations, what sometimes happens is that neither side is willing to leave the scene; to do so would look like a retreat and weakness, so it can go on for hours. But I had other things to do, so I left to go about my day. I hope it ended with nobody seriously hurt.

I asked a Proud Boy member what he thought of Trump’s condemnation of his organization. He replied that “it’s just politics, and the fact that Proud Boys was brought up in the debate helped them greatly.” New memberships have picked up immensely. It reminded me of what happened when Hillary Clinton gave the Alt-Right free publicity.

Edit: One of our people was viciously attacked as he got into his car after the rally. From his Facebook post:

… As some of you know I was hit in the head with a bat getting into my car. Had to go to the hospital and get stitches… Not going to lie it hurts bad…

I would give my life for any one of you. It never crosses my mind that I could possibly lose mine for no reason. I show up not only to support our officers and their families but also try to protect them and their families and other supporters.

See all my life I’ve hated bullies. Antifa are just that… Bullies… They have no morals. No back bone. They target peaceful people, mostly women, children and older people. It’s a coward’s way of life.

I’m not going to stop coming out. I’ll admit though from now on I will be coming out with my carry permit and armed. I will never again be a victim.

Things are getting more violent and when you go out, go with other people. Me and my wife were alone when I was attacked… (edited a little for typos by JAY).

Edit #3: It’s been a couple of days, and it has now become apparent that the corporate media has entirely ignored this event – despite the fact that several members of the press were present, and they DID report on the riots that night.

That night’s riots were, based on reports, exactly the same as all the other Portland riots over the past 100 days or so. There was nothing newsworthy about the night’s riots; our daytime confrontation was more newsworthy.

I can only conclude that the reporters were specifically looking for some footage that would portray the right-wingers in a bad light – but all the footage showed Antifa in a bad light, so they couldn’t use it. Hence, this is an example of media bias and propaganda by omission.

A Couple of Lawsuits to Watch

Downtown Portland businesses have paid a heavy price for the city’s politicians’ refusal to prosecute rioters, and their refusal to allow police to put a decisive stop to the riots. Now a business owner is suing the City of Portland for this negligence. From KATU2:

PORTLAND, Ore. — A downtown Portland jewelry store owner intends to sue the City of Portland for its handling of protests in late May.

Noha Kassab, CEO of Kassab Jewelers, said her family-owned store was was broken into and looted early in the morning on May 30. This was during the beginning stages of what would lead to more than 100 days of protest in Portland.

“I started looking on my phone to see who was in my store, it was bunch of people going into the store, broke glass, it was the most painful, disheartening experience I ever faced,” said Kassab.

The store owner said they are still calculating the costs, but estimates $2.5 million in damages…

“I’m not someone who came to this country with money. I came with an American dream. To see my American dream destroyed and it could have been preventable, is disheartening,” said Kassab.

Kassab filed tort claim notice with the city in mid-September. She alleges Portland leaders, “failed to plan or prepare for, and failed to adequately protect, downtown businesses.”

The storefront on Southwest Broadway is the company’s flagship location. They also have jewelry stores in Lake Oswego and Washington Square Mall.

“I hope to let the city know the amount of pain they have caused for failing to protect the businesses...

Let’s hope this lawsuit, and others like it, are expensive enough to motivate Portlanders to vote smarter in the future.

The second lawsuit is from Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson. From The New York Post:

The leader of the far-right group Patriot Prayer is suing the district attorney of the Portland, Oregon, region who is prosecuting them for rioting last year while refusing to charge left-leaning protesters who have been engaged in often violent demonstrations for months.

Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson and Russell Schultz are due in court Oct. 26 for trials stemming from a May Day 2019 riot, The Oregonian reported.

They were among six men accused of inciting a riot between the right-wing group and left-leaning Antifa outside a Northeast Portland pub. The other four pleaded guilty and were sentenced in January.

Gibson and Schultz accused Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt of unfair prosecution in a federal suit filed Friday. The suit claims that Schmidt is selectively prosecuting them based on their political beliefs, because he is refusing to dismiss the single felony riot allegation against them in light of his new policy.

Schmidt announced last month that his office wouldn’t pursue riot charges against most of the hundreds of people who have been arrested in Portland protests in recent months. He specifically said rioting charges would not be prosecuted unless accompanied by another crime.

Not mentioned in the article is the fact that Patriot Prayer never actually set anything on fire, never smashed windows, never destroyed any statues and never defaced any property. BLM rioters have done all these things, and few (if any) of them were prosecuted.

This case will show us if there is still justice in this country. Personally, I don’t have much faith in the courts when it comes to matters such as these.

In the meantime, we can take satisfaction that Oregon Governor Kate Brown’s intended actions against the Proud Boys, where she deputized over 50 Oregon police officers as federal agents, specifically to prosecute conservative activists, has backfired against her and her buddy, Portland mayor Ted Wheeler. From The Daily Wire:

The United States Attorney for Oregon, Billy Williams, said Wednesday that the Oregon State Police will remain federal deputies, despite Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s pleas.

Mayor Wheeler asked the U.S. Attorney’s office and the Department of Homeland Security to rescind the federal designation earlier this week, well before the designation is due to expire, out of concern that federal deputies could charge Portland’s protesters with federal crimes for assaulting officers, attacking federal buildings, and fomenting unrest.

The mayor’s office issued a statement noting that they’d “asked the U.S. Attorney’s office to withdraw the designation.”

“A key feature of the designation is that anyone who assaults a federally deputized official could be subject to federal charges,” the statement added, per Oregon Live. “Fortunately, I am confident the Multnomah County District Attorney will continue to prosecute anyone who assaults or otherwise harms police officers or others.”

It would be satisfying if the deputized agents ended up arresting Antifa/BLM activists instead of the intended (conservative) targets.
