Are "people of color" ignored by the media?

In the blog “Feministing” a writer, who goes by the name Rose, tell us that…

Mainstream media outlets ignore people of color

Mainstream newspapers, cable and network television, radio, and news websites do not care about the lives of people of color. According to The Pew Research Center’s latest analysis of news coverage,  African Americans had less than 2 percent of coverage, Hispanics had 1.3 percent and Asian Americans had 0.2 percent. This is so offensive considering the demographics of the United States.

The article goes on to compare overall population statistics, the implication being that if 40% of the U.S. population is “people of color” then 40% of news coverage should deal with “people of color”.  To a casual reader, who avoids thinking about it too much, this might seem like a legitimate complaint.  But let us delve a little deeper.  If we look at the original Pew analysis, this is what we find:

… These findings come from an examination of more than 67,000 national news stories that appeared between February 16, 2009 and February 15, 2010 in different mainstream media outlets, including newspapers, cable and network television, radio, and news websites.

Just 643 of those stories, 1.9% of the total newshole examined by the study, related in a significant way to African Americans in the U.S. [1] (To be considered a “significant” part of a given story, 25% of the content of that story must be about a demographic group and its race/ethnicity). However, this was more coverage than was given in the same time period to two other minority groups — Hispanics (1.3%) and Asian Americans (0.2%). As a percentage African Americans make up 12.9% of the U.S. population.

The press coverage that did emerge tended to be a reaction to events involving black newsmakers rather than to issues relating to African Americans more generally. The arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, the Obama presidency, the death of Michael Jackson and the attempted Northwest Airlines terrorist attack by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab accounted for nearly half (46.4%) of all coverage that had a substantial mention of African Americans during this time period…

Clearly, what Pew is talking about is not the appearance of non-white faces in news media.  If a television program shows a group of school children, and 60% of those children were non-white, this would not count as “coverage” for non-whites.  It only counts as “African American coverage”, for example, if the news story specifically addresses the needs or concerns of the “African American community”.

After reading all the above, we might ask, “What kind of coverage does the European American (white) community get from the media?” Are there any programs that relate specifically to whites – not implicitly but explicitly, in the same way that “Black in America 2” relates specifically to blacks?  Although I do not watch television, I am fairly certain that if we conducted such a survey, we would find that such programs amount to 0% of all coverage.  The implication is that whites have no special interests, concerns or needs.

What about the total proportion of people shown on television who are non-white?  In his book, “The Development of Social Maturity“, David McClelland writes (regarding blacks):

Because of pressure from black groups, the current proportion of blacks on television approximates their number in the United States population; however, blacks are more likely than whites to be cast in minor roles (Hinton et al., 1973).  The formal social-occupational status of blacks has also been elevated since the early days of television.  While they used to be cast as servants or entertainers, blacks are not represented as “regulators” of society in positions such as teachers or law enforcers (Clark, 1972; Roberts, 1970).  Based on overall representation and formal status, a child viewer would be expected to respect blacks.  However, their character portrayals may weaken the overall impression.  Blacks are portrayed as good and likable but neither forceful nor powerful.

McClelland’s book was published back in 1982.  Since then, the chorus of demands has grown, not only by blacks but by every other minority group in America. Needless to say, a lot of thought goes into which, and how many, roles get played by persons of which race.  Those who work behind the scenes consider it their duty to portray minorities in the most favorable light possible.  In Entrepreneur.com, we find Dana E. Mastro & Maria A. Kopacz, writing for the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media telling us…

Support for a Media-Based Model of Policy Reasoning

In an attempt to provide a comprehensive, media-inclusive model of racial policy reasoning, Tan et al. (2000) incorporate insights from research on media priming, heuristic models of decision making, and models of media use in the specification of their affective model of policy reasoning. Indeed, each path in their reasoning chain finds substantiation in empirical research.

Support for media use as an exogenous variable in the policy model can be anchored in the research on media priming. Examinations of the priming effects of the media link exposure to positive race-based exemplars with more favorable evaluations of racial and ethnic minorities (Bodenhausen et al., 1995), whereas consumption of negative stereotypes results in disadvantageous racial judgments (Johnson, Adams, Hall, & Ashburn, 1997; Peffley, Shields, & Williams, 1996; Power, Murphy, & Coover, 1996). From this perspective, stereotypes are understood in their capacity to serve as heuristics or structures for the organization of knowledge. Conceptually then, stereotypes do not necessarily carry negative implications.

When racial dynamics in media is reduced to a science, the inevitable result is that very little is left to chance.  Although the mainstream media attempts to give the illusion of randomness, in reality there is nothing random about the number of black/Hispanic faces shown at any given time on television or any other news outlet. When Obama gives a public speech, great care is taken as to the ethnicities of individuals visible behind him as he speaks.  If a company is casting for a commercial, they already know what race the candidates must be.

For those of us who have never personally experienced what goes on behind the scenes in the world of media, “Coloring the News” by William McGowan is a must-read.  It describes how decisions are made and why they are made.  Though most of his book deals with the coverage of crime, immigration and homosexuals, the underlying mentality he describes applies equally here.  The book was published in 2002 and things have certainly not improved since then.  Given the politics of our era, and the clout of special interest groups, any impression of racial randomness in the media is mere illusion.  If this is indeed the case, then the epitom
e of diversity – the black male – has certainly lost any claim to randomness.  If a black man is shown on television, or featured in a news story, it is because the bosses on high specifically called for a black man.  Even if his story is newsworthy for other reasons, the amount of coverage he gets will be determined based on the fact that he is a black man.  The only possible exception to this rule might be sports news – but even sports coverage might be tainted with racial politics.  I’ll let readers fill me in on this in comments; I am sports-illiterate.

This is the background I should have given prior to publishing my earlier post “Cleared by DNA“.  The media did not make up the story in order to further their racial agenda – but they did take advantage of it, slightly distort it, and leverage it toward this goal.

Hasty memos and half-baked accusations

While reading Occidental Dissent, I found a disturbing comment.  It seems the hate-mongers are at it again, this time taking advantage of the tragic shooting in Arizona to cast suspicion upon American Renaissance.  As for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), apparently all it takes is for some deranged individual(s) to provide an anonymous tip linking American Renaissance to the shooting, and it is taken seriously enough to leak to Fox News:

There is no direct connection, but a strong suspicion, that the accused shooter was influenced by a group called American Renaissance. This is based on some of the videos he posted on YouTube. This group’s ideology is anti-government, anti-immigration, and anti-Semitic. Congresswoman Giffords is the first Jewish female elected to a high position in Arizona.

Anybody who is even remotely familiar with American Renaissance knows that it does not fit the description above at all.  But it is pro-white, and this is enough for some people to label it “racist”.  Once a person, or group, acquires the label “racist”, it follows (according to their reasoning) that all other negative epithets also apply. Thus, a “racist” must also be ant-Semitic, terrorist, fascist, ignorant, Nazi, Communist, pedophile, misogynist and a cannibal.  After all, evil is evil, right?
That Fox would publish such an accusation, obviously without the slightest effort to verify its veracity, shows that The Left is right about one thing: Fox News is not news at all.  The level of recklessness required to fling such ignorance at the public shows that, if Fox wishes to be taken seriously, it had better clean its own house and show more responsibility.
If I am right about the anonymous tip, then this incident shows us how far the United States has transformed into a police state.  We already know that, in places like Stalin’s Russia and today’s Afghanistan, people strike at their enemies by “informing” against them to the government.  In a police state, the government is a tool that can be used, by unscrupulous people, against anybody.  We are told, “report suspicious activity” over and over again.  Once in a while, suspicious activity may be a legitimate warning of impending terrorist strikes.  On the other hand, the sort of mentality we are being urged to adopt leads to a constant erosion of our liberties.  It makes me wonder if an occasional terrorist attack is a better choice.  Sometimes the treatment is worse than the disease.

Shop right, buy white pt. II

Here is a letter I just received from a reader who wishes to remain anonymous:
Hi JAY,
You posted something awhile ago about “shop right, buy white.” I think this is a great idea and I would like to start, or see started, a website along those lines (last I checked, shoprightbuywhite.com is still available).  However, I don’t know many people in the white advocate/white nationalist community (my focus is more on eugenics) so you might be more knowledgeable (or know someone who is) who can help with this.
It would be good to have a website which focused on white advocacy in terms of media and consumer goods. You mentioned the movement needs more women. Well, women make most of the purchases for any household, if they “buy white” in large numbers Madison Ave. will sit up and pay attention. Plus, political activism is not for everyone; this is a way for a larger number of people to directly participate in a white advocate movement and a way for it to get more exposure.
“Shop right, buy white” is catchy and it sticks in people’s minds. Like “Dresden recovered, Detroit did not.” People may rage all they want, but once that idea’s in their brain it won’t get out again. Also, many people in liberal areas––doctors, police officers, public defenders, Newark survivors––who are racially realist, and very, very lonely. I know so many surface-liberals who are actually race realists trying to keep the peace at work. If these sayings got around a bit, and if people started googling “buy white” or “Dresden recovered,” it wouldn’t be hard for a moderately competent group of white nationalists to google bomb the results and present a well-documented case for why whites should act in their own self-interest. Once liberal whites stop fearing the disapproval of other whites, many of them will start to be more overt––or more aggressively covert––about helping other whites.
If you want to post this idea on your blog, or anywhere else, feel free to do so. However, I’d prefer you not mention who wrote it; if anyone in my life finds my tumblog, I’m already screwed once over for writing a eugenics blog, let alone commenting on a white nationalist website without spluttering disapproval. If they find out that I proposed this to you, it could be all over before it began. (I’m 23)
I’ve included a copy of a letter I sent to NBC about the tv show “Community.” I tried to watch it b/c I like Joel McHale, but the supporting cast (and background extras) were too much for me. Not sure if it’ll interest you, but it outlines the kind of approach “Shop Right, Buy White” campaigns could take.

Dear NBC Studios,
I was very disappointed with one of your latest shows, “Community.” You may be trying to reflect the changing demographics of the nation in your show’s cast. However, many of your viewers have to deal with diversity day in and day out; when they come home, they would like to see a show with a more homogeneous cast, whether homogeneously black, white, asian or something else.
Diversity weakens community, and “Community.” Ethnically diverse schools, neighborhoods and nations have more strife, less engagement and less happiness than homogeneous ones. On top of that, diversity makes neighbors less friendly and less trusting, and more likely to stay with their own kind.
The chirpy, sassy banter of mixed-race tv show ensembles almost never occurs in real life. More often than not, different groups tolerate each other, form surface connections and ignore the tension until it becomes beneficial not to. I’m sure there are exceptions to this rule, but I doubt any exist in any community college tutor group, anywhere in the United States. What do you think?
I understand and appreciate the hard work of NBC’s staff and of the cast. However, it pains me that such a good show as “Community” takes the approach that it does. If you are trying to portray a fantasy, why not fulfill your viewer’s fantasies more completely, and show an overwhelmingly white (or black, or asian, or jewish, or ____) cast? And if you are trying to portray reality, why on earth would you do so in a situation comedy?
Of course, you won’t change the series, even if you receive ten thousand similar letters. As is your right, which I don’t begrudge you. I hope you know that you are losing potential viewers, young viewers even, because of your casting choices, and are not doing this out of ignorance and the misguided belief that people enjoy diversity. Perhaps you are right––people do enjoy theoretical diversity, as shown on your show. Too bad that doesn’t exist.

Poor British white boys

Countenance recently linked to a UK Telegraph article which states…

By the age of 16, only 23% of white boys eligible for free school meals achieved five or more GCSE exams at grade C or better, in subjects including English and maths.
This was a significantly worse success rate than for all other poor pupils on free school meals, among whom 34% achieved the target of five good grades, which is regarded as the benchmark for further study and employment…
The new analysis of Government data, released by the Conservatives, showed that 61 per cent of the poorest Chinese boys and 42 per cent of Asian boys on free school meals achieved the GCSE target last year. Among black boys, the figure was 34 per cent…
At first blush, this case (if it is being accurately reported) flies in the face of what we know about racial differences and what we have generally seen elsewhere.  Race realists should not sweep such reports under the rug just because they do not fit the usual pattern we have come to expect.  The most logical explanation I can think of, and some at Stormfront have suggested this, is that U.K. schools are so anti-white (and probably anti white male as well) that these white boys are disenfranchised.  Years of oppression have demoralized them to the point where they hardly even try any more.  And why should they?  Their odds of finding a decent job are minimal and they face a life of discrimination – as they watch themselves becoming a minority in their own ancestral lands.
The logical thing to do would be to spend a lot of time with those boys and find out what is really on their minds.  Attention and research should be focused on them; until then, all we can do is guess.  I can already hear my critics asking, “why don’t you suggest doing the same for poor black boys in America then?”  The answer is, of course, that it is normal for black boys (as a group) to perform poorly in academics.  It is not normal for white boys (as a group) to do so.  Everything humanly possible has already been tried in order to improve the performance of black boys and failure has almost always been the outcome.  I say “almost” because there is one method that yields results (but not to the extent that it will erase the racial gap): all-black schools that demand strict discipline and real, solid, learning.  But I am not holding my breath that this will become widespread any time soon.  Those who fancy themselves “liberals” have other plans.

Caucasian Nation

Regular readers of this blog already know how I relish the occasional dissenting viewpoints posted here.  Not so that the rest of us can make fun of such visitors, ridicule them or beat our own drums even louder.  On the contrary, I want such visitors to feel welcome and wanted here – and this applies regardless of their racial or religious background.  This is where the true beauty of the internet blossoms.  Truth grows best on soil that has been watered with the blood of frequent debate.
So I have been reading the essay that Steph linked to in the “about” section.  The basic premise of the essay is that claims of white victimhood are merely a crudely disguised form of white racism.  The essay recounts the brutality of Southerners toward their slaves before and after the war, and how Southern whites claimed to be victims even as they lynched and terrorized those who opposed them.  I had hoped to find some sort of substance in the essay.  Something that would make it worth reading.  Instead, I found statements such as this:

Even though we’ve mostly done away with outright racial violence, the memory of violence survives in the symbolism of  the Shirley Sherrod affair…

We’ve done away with racial violence?  I would like to see Marco Roth (unfortunately, probably a Jew) explain this lack of violence to the families of  Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom or to Mike Sola or to Sylvia Hollingsworth or to the families of the victims of the Zebra murders or to the victims of Colin Ferguson or to the victims of the anti-white pogroms in Philadelphia or to the families of the Wichita Horror victims or to any of the other thousands of white victims of violent black racism*.  I am sure they would be relieved to know that what they experienced was not “violence”.  Likewise, the 30,000 plus white women who are raped by black men each year would be comforted to know that their ordeals were not “violent”.  Perhaps he feels all this is justified because of incidents like the Sherrod affair, which I have already written about elsewhere.
Lest the reader suspect me, in the preceding paragraph, of cherry-picking black on white crimes, it has already been shown that such crimes are extremely common.  With interracial crimes, black perpetrator/white victim is the norm, not the exception.  I strongly suggest reading The Color of Crime for more information on this topic.
Anti-white demagogues, such as Roth, dismiss black on white crime by first denying that it exists.  Failing this, they blame said crime on poverty and white oppression.  The fact of the matter is that it is precisely essays such as Roth’s, and the incessant anti-white drum-beating of the mass media, that is instrumental in swelling the ranks of white victims.  Black leaders read essays such as Roth’s – and then pass the content on to their flock.  Ultimately, it trickles down to the criminal class and serves as “justification” for yet more rapes, murders and muggings.  Thus, Roth’s essay is not only ignorant, it is also irresponsible.  But then again, perhaps this was his intent all along.
Roth seems to live in the days of Jim Crow.  He seems unaware that the number of whites, murdered by blacks in recent years, far exceeds the total number of blacks ever lynched by whites.  Sitting in his gated community, this is probably not a great concern for him.  Without skipping a beat, Roth continues to spout nonsense:

To say that the Republican Party these days stands for white ethno-nationalism is not an op-ed exaggeration

Does he mean the same Republican party that gave us affirmative action, open borders with Mexico and countless federal handouts, programs and low-interest loans specifically for non-whites – but nothing specifically for whites?  Is he really talking about that Republican party?  After all these years, it turns out that all the enmity between the Republican party and white people of America was just a big misunderstanding.  They are our friends after all!  But seriously, with friends like these, who needs enemies?
At least Roth admits that there is anti-white sentiment in schools:

The simple-minded mantra we’re taught in grade school goes like this: blacks good because oppressed, whites bad because oppressors. So if whites suddenly became oppressed, even while remaining the majority, they would magically become good again. Many Americans are now being taught to think this way.

Apparently Roth fails to recognize that this anti-white message is followed up, after graduation, via television, radio, newspapers, billboards – and stupid essays, like the one he just wrote.  There is a word for the ongoing beating down of a people’s ethnic pride.  That word is “oppression”.
I must take issue with yet another statement by Roth:

The United States grants freedom of religion and individual expression, but it does not grant the freedom for states, or individuals, to enter and leave the Union at will.

If I were to list all the sources, from the fathers of this country, that contradict Roth on this count, this post would be a long one indeed.  Instead, I shall quote the founders and let the reader decide if this might be a right that the founders would want to preserve for future generations:

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation…

Yes folks, “separation” is another word for “leaving a union”.  This nation was founded upon the principle that people have a right to secede.  Otherwise, we would still be part of England.  Perhaps Roth should practice what he preaches and move to England.  I recommend Westminster; I am certain he would feel at home there.
Roth does not stop at denying whites any manner of group pride, rights or protection.  When it comes right down to it, he wants nobody to have rights – with the probable exception of himself:

The ideology of states’ rights against federal enforcement, the metastasized right to bear arms, the fear of “big government” intervention — these were the pillars on which the Confederate and later segregationist South sought to erect a white plantation nation. The use to which these ideas were put in the American past forever taints their invocation, as it rightly should.

There we have it.  Local government is evil, the right to self-defense is evil and freedom from big government intervention is evil.  Why?  Because the Confederacy believed in such things.  Then Roth had better stay away from cotton; the Confederates were very fond of cotton I hear.
As for Steph, I thank her for bringing the essay to my attention; it was entertaining – in a blood-boiling sort of way.  If Marco Roth, who is an assistant-professor, can be so jaw-droppingly ignorant – surely I cannot blame his victims for being just as ignorant.  The background information, which allowed me to see Roth’s folly for what it is, cannot be gleaned from the mainstream media or public education; it comes from years of independent study.  Most people have neither the time, nor the inclination to pursue such knowledge.  So I do not blame you one bit, Steph, for taking Roth’s essay seriously.  It is not your fault.

Minority press subsidies

There is a weekly newsletter, here in the Pacific Northwest, called “The Asian Reporter”.  I was browsing through it one day, when I noticed that the advertising section contained an inordinate number of large ads from government agencies.  At that point, I recalled that large businesses and government entities are required to have “outreach programs” to show that they are actively seeking non-whites for their job openings and contracts.  These ads include: Fire Chief for the City of Hillsboro, Associate CIO for Portland State University, Parking Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Portland, Medical examiner for Clark County, assorted positions for the Port of Portland and more.
Government agencies, and large companies, are required to advertise jobs in specifically non-white media outlets.  For example:

FTA’s Title VI policies require that states do outreach to minority communities (including offers of technical assistance) in the process of soliciting competitive applications for the federal transit funding.

Anybody who reads this blog is already aware that the so-called “mainstream press” is a mouthpiece for anti-white propaganda.  Their hatred toward whites, as a race, knows no bounds and examples are easy to find.  Nevertheless, in the eyes of government, this self-same “mainstream press” is considered a voice for white people in the sense that other media outlets must be utilized to recruit non-whites for jobs.
Although the stated goal of such outreach programs is to ensure that non-whites have “equal access” to jobs, what this actually amounts to is a subsidy of non-white media publications through advertising.  It is truly a triple-edged sword against whites.  There is no outreach program for whites.  If a white does find the job, his odds of getting it are diminished due to anti-white quota systems.  In the meantime, he is being robbed of his money to help sustain publications that specifically exclude him because of his race.
Perhaps we can take some small comfort that many of the minority publications are not nearly as anti-white as the so-called “mainstream press”.

Cleared by DNA

The Associated Press/Yahoo recently published an article on Cornelius Dupree, freed from prison after 30 years.

DALLAS – A Texas man had his conviction overturned Tuesday for a rape and robbery he didn’t commit after serving 30 years in prison, more time than any other inmate subsequently exonerated by DNA evidence in his state.
Cornelius Dupree Jr., 51, was formally cleared of the aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon conviction that had kept him behind bars from December 1979 until July of 2010. He served 30 years of his 75-year sentence before making parole in July. About a week later, DNA test results came back proving his innocence.


The media loves it when a black man is proven innocent through DNA.  It is their feeble answer to “hate facts” such as black men rape white women at alarming rates, while white men rarely rape black women.  When such stories make the headlines, it is as if to say that black men do not actually commit that much crime; rather, they are imprisoned for crimes they did not commit due to our “racist justice system”.
It is a good thing when a falsely imprisoned person is finally set free – and if Dupree, being a good man who got railroaded, threw a party at his release, I would be there celebrating with everybody else.  But it is not enough for the MSM to simply report good new.  No, they must embellish it with deceptions.
The initial paragraph tells us he was convicted of “rape and robbery”.  The reader must continue reading through paragraph 8 to learn that:

Dupree was charged in 1979 with raping and robbing a 26-year-old woman. He was sentenced a year later to 75 years in prison for aggravated robbery. He was never tried on the rape charge.

It would seem to me that if he was never tried for rape, then there could never have been a conviction for rape.  Or am I missing something?  But of course I am!  He was convicted for rape in the first paragraph, which everybody reads, but he was not tried for rape in the eighth paragraph, which few people read.  Now it all makes sense.  Silly me.
The other deception is far more subtle.  By bombarding readers with photos of the innocent black man, the message being sent is “the guilty party was not a black man”.  Instead, this is yet one more example of discrimination against black men.  But, if we read on to paragraph 12, we learn that…

Dupree and Massingill were arrested in December because they looked similar to two suspects being sought in another sexual assault and robbery. The 26-year-old woman picked both men out of a photo array, but her male companion did not identify either defendant in the same photo array.

So the woman, being white, confused one black man with another.  It is a fact that people of one race have difficulties distinguishing between people of another race unless they spend a lot of time with the other race.  So what actually happened was that the guilty black man remained on the lose, while an innocent black man was locked up.  But this scenario does not advance the cause of “black victimhood” – so it is only mentioned in paragraph 12, which most people never read.
Another factor to consider is that police, and prosecutors, find it much easier to pin the blame on people who already have criminal records.   Though I cannot prove it, I am fairly certain that most of those cleared by DNA evidence were “criminal types” before their false convictions.  Even if they were not guilty of the specific crime in question, the odds are they were guilty of other crimes.  Some of those other crimes were known to the powers that be, and so the new crimes (which they did not actually commit) were also attributed to them.  I am not saying that they deserved being locked up for crimes they did not commit, only that many of them were probably not upstanding citizens to begin with.  The public would have less sympathy for career criminals who get away with various crimes, but get falsely convicted for something else.  This would not make a good news story, so it would be omitted.
The media cannot honestly use DNA as a weapon in their war against supposed white racism.  The best they can do is take tidbits of unrelated good news, such as the above, and dress it up as if it’s a case against white racism.  By spicing it up, and presenting it a certain way, they are able to transform the story (in a subliminal way) into something it is not.

Social Security and Medicare – selling off our nation

Michael Tennant, at New American, tells us that the aging of the Baby Boomer generation spells doom for the American economy because the Federal government cannot possibly keep its obligations without drastically raising taxes or creating so much money that runaway inflation will set in:

For Medicare, says CBS News:

  • The number of people eligible will nearly double from 46 million to 80 million by the time all the boomers reach 65.
  • It’s estimated the cost will grow from $500 billion a year today to $929 billion by 2020.
  • The number of workers supporting each senior will fall.

All of this adds up to one gaping hole in the federal budget. Medicare’s unfunded liability runs as high as $38 trillion over the next 75 years — ObamaCare does nothing to remedy this and will probably worsen it — and the program may go bankrupt by 2017. What to do about it?
The obvious answer, as CBS News points out, is for Americans “to work longer and get used to less government help.” Unfortunately, the reality of the situation has not yet penetrated the skulls of voters, says the report:
Yet Americans still, apparently, want it all. According to a new Associated Press/GfK poll, they don’t want to raise the age for Medicare.
Sixty-one percent favor raising Medicare taxes to avoid cutting Medicare benefits, and a majority of both Democrats and Republicans, young and old, would rather raise taxes than cut benefits.

How high would taxes have to go to keep afloat Medicare — and Social Security, which faces a $5.3 trillion shortfall over the next 75 years and has already begun cashing in the federal IOUs in its phantom trust fund? Former Treasury Department economist Bruce Bartlett calculated in 2009 that “federal income taxes for every taxpayer would have to rise by roughly 81% to pay all of the benefits promised by these programs under current law over and above the payroll tax.”
Are Americans prepared to pay such astronomical amounts of taxes? If they refuse to permit eligibility age increases or benefit reductions as well as the taxes necessary to sustain current benefit levels, there will remain only the options of more debt — almost certainly more than anyone would be willing to lend the U.S. government — and runaway inflation. The outlook — Franklin’s “end of the republic” — is grim indeed.

As I write this, there is one comment on the above article and it states:

Interesting observation on apparent and likely conditions. However, there is much more behind the scenes than meets the eye. A current political social and political problem may finally become the solution. After pressing for responsible family planning for more than a generation, we may soon hear that much greater immigration is needed to pay the support for the baby boomers. And the lost generation of boomers with inadequate children to support them may ditch their race and class for the hope of an easy retirement. Not right by any standard, but surprisingly logical and maybe even possible!

Yes, very logical indeed – if your goal is to replace the population of the U.S. and turn it into a third world country.  The commentator is right that the double whammy of family planning and badly managed mandatory “social security” might force remaining whites to either give up on their elderly or give up their nation.
If this were a game of chess, then those who seek the dispossession of whites would be saying “checkmate”.  But the Japanese are showing that there are other options.  Japan is at the cutting edge of robotic technologies that promise to make life much easier for an aging population.  If we can mass produce robots that can dress us, feed us, call for medical help in an emergency, shop for us or even keep us company – then do we really need to import millions of aliens to do these things for us?  As for the money, I do not believe it is the quantity of money that matters.   Rather, it is the quality of care and, if quality care can be provided cheaply, then we can turn the tables on our enemies.  It is worth mentioning that robots are not likely to abuse their charges, nor to steal from them or neglect them.  They are also not likely to make us feel like aliens in our own lands.

Arabic music versus African music

Warning: I am about to embark on one of my blatantly unscientific rants.
For a long time now, blacks have been considered cool and trendy.  Therefore, many cultural traits associated with blacks are also popular.  Black ghetto slang, dress and gang symbols can be found around the world, adopted by the empty, pathetic masses that consider their own native cultures inferior.  Among more affluent whites, we find African art on their walls, African charities being donated to and African orphans being adopted.
Apparently the same applies to music.  Trashy whites listen to ghetto rap.  Cultured whites will usually listen to white music – but they harbor a symbolic respect for black African music as well.  Once, while visiting a leftist cousin, our conversation drifted to music.  He produced an African CD and I asked to borrow it to see if it was any good; my tastes in music are rather eclectic and I’m always interested in listening to something new.  As it turned out, that African music was some of the worst I had ever heard.
My real passion is for Arabic music.  Not all Arabic music, of course.  There are certain genres I particularly enjoy and others I do not care for.  I do like some Sudanese music as well; it is an interesting blend of traditional African and Arabic elements.  It tends to be more mellow than other Arabic music.  That most white-nationalists hate Arabic music doesn’t bother me in the least.  To each his own.  Also, I did not choose to enjoy Arabic music; it has appealed to me from my earliest memories.  But this I know: Arabic music is superior to most black African music.  Modern Arabic music draws (typically) from Turkish, African, Indian and the various native traditions it absorbed.  Though I cannot prove it, I believe that ancient Egyptian, Babylonian and even Hebrew music live on, to various degrees, in what we now call “Arabic music”.  In contrast, most black African music does not seem to draw from other sources much at all.  Granted, there are some catchy tunes and some impressive beats – but it seems to be very local and tribal.  Hey, I warned you this would not be scientific.
Yet, a Google search for “Arab music festival” yields only 640,000 results.  Only 408.000 for “Arabic music festival”.  In contrast, “African music festival” yields 3,940,000 results.  Lest somebody claim this is because Africa is larger than the Arab world (and there is some overlap, of course), “Asian music festival” yields only 1,060,000 results.  But traditional Asian (excluding Indian) music is even worse than African music.   I suppose one must be raised with it to appreciate it; I certainly do not.  So it does seem as though there is some favoritism toward African music simply because it is African.  African is “the new black” while “Arabic” is associated with various unsavory things – not without justification.
I would like to suggest to Arabs, that they stop beheading people and blowing stuff up – if this is what it takes for their music to gain the recognition it deserves.
