When peace is war

Not long ago I received a request from Avaaz.com to sign a petition for a Palestinian activist.  The petition states:

Days ago I went to Hebron in the occupied West Bank and met Issa Amro, a soft-spoken, Gandhi-quoting Palestinian. The Israeli government considers him a dangerous man.
So dangerous that he was locked up in March for joining Israeli and Palestinian women to peacefully protest a segregationist policy that bars most Palestinians from even walking down the main market street of Hebron, a Palestinian city. And this month, just as I arrived to meet him, he was taken away in handcuffs by Israeli soldiers and when he was released he was laid out on a stretcher, beaten and bruised.
Issa is dangerous because he’s committed to a dangerous idea: growing a powerful nonviolent movement for freedom that’s reviving hope in Palestine. And he isn’t alone. I met inspiring Palestinians across the West Bank who are standing up and choosing the path of nonviolence. But precisely because of their potential power, they are being attacked and imprisoned on spurious legal charges and they need our help.

The Israeli versus Palestinian conflict is a complex one and there are no simple answers. But let’s assume that Issa Amro’s goal is to set up a political situation that would threaten the existence of the State of Israel. I would expect Israelis to be alarmed about this even though Amro had renounced violence. Though he has thrown down his weapons, Amro is still very much at war.
To put things into perspective, let’s envision a world where black on white crime doesn’t exist, where Hispanic immigrants are as docile as sheep and where Islam really is the “religion of peace.” In such a world, should whites feel any better about being eradicated through superior birthrates and demographic dilution? Any white with a healthy sense of identity would still want to put an end to Hispanic immigration. He would still want to segregate himself from blacks and Muslims so that his children and grandchildren would carry on his genes and heritage.
Genocide is genocide, whether it’s achieved through mass executions or through “bedroom genocide.” On my previous post, baaltanit commented:

Thank you for your good work. We at wnthinktank are formally renouncing anti-Semitism. We still may not agree on many things, perhaps not even the definition of anti-Semitism, but we appreciate what you’re doing and would be interested in knowing your thoughts on how to bring the White Jewish and gentile communities more into accord. This is an olive branch for any Jews who wish to accept. If not, good luck in all of your endeavors. We wish you no harm, only the best.

Baaltanit’s original post on this matter, called “Love Panzer,” was reblogged by Mindweapons in Ragnarok.  I suspect that this idea will get some traction in the blogosphere, but I doubt many white nationalists would go so far as to marry Jews for this purpose, or convert to become rabbis.
Like the Israeli versus Palestinian conflict, this relationship is a complex one. Those who know me would not be surprised to learn that I feel a deep connection with the Palestinian people and Arabs in general. While most Jews have ceased being Semites in any meaningful way, the Arabs have retained some of our ancient traits – and even had the audacity to impose them on others. Yet I have no love for those who wish to kill me, and I have no affection for those who wish to destroy my people.
Of course I’ll accept the olive branch. This was never in doubt, since I was never at war with white nationalists to begin with. We can work together for the advancement of white people. But I have always condemned intermarriage and I’m used to being shouted down for this by liberals. If a few white nationalists join the chorus, then so be it.
What do I hope will come of this? I hope that baaltanit’s message spreads enough in the blogosphere that the outside world takes notice. I would be pleased to see newspaper headlines that read: “Neo-nazis* now encourage intermarriage with Jews in order to assimilate them to death.” This may get some young Jews to think about the consequences of marrying out. In other words, I hope it backfires. Is anybody surprised?
*Not a slur on my part; this is how the media would present it.

How important is physical strength?

How important is physical strength in violent confrontations? I’ve heard women say that a man’s superior brute strength is not such a big deal, that it’s useful mainly for opening jars. Among primitive humans, those who could not open jars would starve to death, leaving only those who could open jars to reproduce.
But on a more serious note, few would seriously argue that physical strength is not a major factor in determining the victor in a confrontation. Few would argue this, but some, such as Colonel Ellen Haring, do make this argument. The Washington Times reports:

An Army officer writing in a prestigious journal says the services should not overemphasize physical strength when deciding whether a woman qualifies for direct ground combat.
Col. Ellen Haring, on the staff of the U.S. Army War College, says commanders need to downplay obstacle courses and judge a service member’s ability to stay calm and think quickly.

Liberals, if they had the ability to think rationally, would find themselves in a bind when it comes to military service. On the one hand, they cannot demand academic/intellectual standards because this would disproportionately affect blacks and Hispanics. On the other hand, they cannot emphasize physical strength standards because this would exclude a majority of women. For the bulk of liberals, the answer (as usual) is to stick their heads in the sand and make believe that women will be held to the same standards as men. If they were, there would be very few women in the military, police forces or fire departments – and this simply will not do. So Colonel Haring takes a different approach. She wants to emphasize other skills:
In focusing only on physical strength in violent situations, she said: “We diminish the importance of what are probably more important traits in soldiers: the ability to remain calm, focused, creative and quick-thinking in times of extreme duress. These are the traits that we should be measuring as we assess soldiers for combat specialties.

Yes, it’s true that these are important traits, but who’s to say that these traits, and physical strength, are mutually exclusive? We’ve got well over three hundred million people in this country. Surely we can find enough volunteers, who possess all of the above, to stock our military. Haring seems to be implying that men are less likely to remain calm, focused, creative and quick-thinking than women. I have no idea which reality she’s been living in, but in mine, men seem to have the advantage there too.
A little off topic, but I’ll point out that traditional societies sacrifice their men, and not their women, in war; they’re expendable. As long as there are enough women of child-bearing age left in the population, the nation can recover. But the United States is no longer a nation; it’s just a place on the map that is subject to a particular government, which claims a monopoly on the use of force within those borders. The official stance is that an “American” soldier can just as easily be replaced with a Bantu or a Mongol – as long as he has the proper papers. Once we’ve established that an “American” is interchangeable with anybody on Earth, women have also become expendable. If all W.A.S.P. women, of child-bearing age, disappear from the U.S. tomorrow, it wouldn’t be considered a problem; more can be imported from Congo or Afghanistan – and they’ll be just as “American.” This is why the acceptance of women into combat roles goes hand in hand with the destruction of the ethno-state.

But back to the point, since physical strength does matter, guns are all the more necessary for weaker people to protect themselves. By most accounts, most victims of spousal beatings are women. The reason for this should be obvious: Women are weaker than men, just as children are weaker than adults. Erica Ritz writes, in The Blaze:

The average woman is not as strong as the average man.  In a hand-to-hand struggle, even if she goes to the gym five times a week, the woman is probably going to lose.

Unless she has a gun, and knows how to use it.

“There’s a famous quote…[that] goes, ‘God made men, but Sam Colt made [them] equal,’” Jason Hanson, a former CIA Officer and the author of “The Covert Guide to Concealed Carry,” told TheBlaze.  “A great example of this is when a few months back, [an] 18-year girl in Oklahoma used a shotgun to stop a home intruder who had a knife.  The bottom line is, a gun is without a doubt the best way for a woman to defend herself in a worst-case scenario.”

I would like to add that the same principle applies to smaller/weaker men. Men such as George Zimmerman. If we google “unarmed black”, we get an astounding 21,400,000 results. In many of those search results, if not most of them, the implication is that the “unarmed blacks” were helpless. In the case of Trayvon Martin, he was an “unarmed black kid” because he had not yet reached his 18th birthday. In a few months, he would have been an “unarmed black man.” Whether he had reached his 18th birthday or not was irrelevant to Zimmerman. Martin was 6′ 2″ and much stronger than Zimmerman. Zimmerman’s gun was his equalizer.

Those who oppose the private ownership of guns are actually advocating for the rule of the jungle, where brute strength the main determining factor in a confrontation. The very term “unarmed” is misleading. After all, Martin did have arms, and he could have used them to kill Zimmerman.

It would be interesting to hear Colonel Haring’s take on the private ownership of guns.

Jamaican intolerance toward homosexuals

When I saw the headline on yahoo.com: “In Jamaica, transgender teen murdered by mob,” I wasn’t surprised. Black societies, no matter where they are located, are infamous for their intolerance toward sexual minorities.

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica (AP) — Dwayne Jones was relentlessly teased in high school for being effeminate until he dropped out. His father not only kicked him out of the house at the age of 14 but also helped jeering neighbors push the youngster from the rough Jamaican slum where he grew up.

By age 16, the teenager was dead — beaten, stabbed, shot and run over by a car when he showed up at a street party dressed as a woman. His mistake: confiding to a friend that he was attending a “straight” party as a girl for the first time in his life…

International advocacy groups often portray this Caribbean island as the most hostile country in the Western Hemisphere for gay and transgender people. After two prominent gay rights activists were murdered, a researcher with the U.S.-based Human Rights Watch in 2006 called the environment in Jamaica for such groups “the worst any of us has ever seen.”

I’ll venture a guess that Haiti is every bit as bad as Jamaica, but the abuse is less documented. If you’re wondering where the “evil white man” fits into all this, you needn’t wonder any longer. The article goes on to say:

Some say the hostility partly stems from the legacy of slavery when black men were sometimes sodomized as punishment or humiliation. Some historians believe that practice carried over into a general dread of homosexuality.

But of course. The “legacy of slavery”. Is the “legacy of slavery” also to blame for Jamaica’s anti-snitching culture?

Police spokesman Steve Brown said detectives working the case are struggling to overcome a chronic problem: a strong anti-informant culture that makes eyewitnesses to murders and other crimes too afraid or simply unwilling to come forward.
Even though some 300 people were at the dance party in the small riverside community of Irwin, police have yet to make a single arrest in Dwayne’s murder. Police say witnesses have said they couldn’t see the attackers’ faces.

Sounds a lot like Detroit to me, and Detroit sounds a lot like Jamaica in its attitudes toward homosexuals. Come to think of it, so does Uganda. That “legacy of slavery” sure gets around.

The Homeland Bad English Administration

It seems the Homeland Security Administration has outsourced its signage operations to China. At least that’s the impression I got yesterday while driving along the Oregon coast with some friends. One of us wanted to stop for coffee, so we pulled into an espresso booth next to a gas station. Across from the booth, I noticed the following abomination:

Land Mgt. & Fire Skills to end loss via terrorist spawned coordinated wildfire Attacks & extreme fire storms, that suppression agencies evacuate  from.

When it comes to butchery of the English language, have the terrorists already won? Have there actually been any “terrorist spawned coordinated wildfires?” If terrorists wished to start such fires, would we realistically be able to stop them? Is it necessary to have a grade-school diploma in order to write signs for Homeland Security?
How many grammatical errors can you find in the above sentence?

Packs of "young people" cause chaos in Hollywood

It seems those raceless, colorless, “youths” are at it again. This time they chose to bring their enrichment to Hollywood. According to the Afro-centric rag, USA Today:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Packs of young people rampaged through Hollywood, knocked down people and stole cellphones and other items before a police sweep halted the marauding and arrested a dozen people, police said Wednesday.
Calls began coming in at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday that youths were robbing people and stealing T-shirts and other goods from businesses, mainly on Hollywood Boulevard, Lt. Ray Valois said.
Fifteen to 20 young men and women were “attacking victims and taking property,” he said. “Some people may have been knocked down or punched.”
However, no serious injuries were reported.
As many as 40 people may have been involved, splitting into smaller groups and reforming as they looted people nearby, Valois said.
Surveillance video aired on television showed youths roaming along the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It’s about time I say. Let them loot Hollywood. Let them tear it up, burn it down and make its denizens live in fear. I know it won’t happen, but we can at least hope that some of those loathsome producers (yes, the ones who worship blacks and hate whites) get beaten to a pulp in the process. I would pay to see those producers, bandaged and bleeding, being pushed around in wheelchairs, producing movies featuring groups of feral youth rampaging through once-civilized cities. In those movies, the rioters would all be white – and they’d be beating up innocent black people. And then, after a hard day’s work producing propaganda, they would venture out and get thrown off their wheelchairs by some more raceless, colorless, “young people”. But it’s okay, because those acts will not be hatecrimes. Rather, they’ll be “random” acts of violence. Or perhaps they’ll be crimes of “boredom.” Because everybody knows that when blacks commit crime, they’re raceless and colorless. They don’t riot. They “protest.” They don’t spread STD’s. They “suffer” from them. They’re victims of homicide and domestic violence, but they’re not perpetrators. They endure racism from whites, but they themselves are colorblind. This is what Hollywood would have us believe.
So let us invite those Trayvons back to Hollywood for some more fun and merriment. I’ll even pay for their bus tickets.

My advice to George Zimmerman

Now that George Zimmerman’s criminal trial is over, and he has been found not-guilty, he will discover that his woes have only just begun. There is already clamoring, from the usual sources, for the Department of Justice (sic) to pursue civil charges against him.

The NAACP, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and other civil rights activists are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice and Attorney Gen. Eric Holder to press federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watchman who was acquitted by a Sanford, Fla., jury Saturday in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
“The most fundamental of civil rights — the right to life — was violated the night George Zimmerman stalked and then took the life of Trayvon Martin,” NAACP President Ben Jealous wrote in a letter to Holder shortly after the verdict was announced. “We ask that the Department of Justice file civil rights charges against Mr. Zimmerman for this egregious violation. Please address the travesties of the tragic death of Trayvon Martin by acting today.”

These so-called “civil rights” organizations carry a lot of clout. They have practically limitless resources at their disposal and they have no interest in the rights of white men, even white men who are actually “Hispanic whites” such as Zimmerman. But even if the federal government does not follow the example set in 1992, by prosecuting the officers with civil rights violations, Zimmerman will still be forced into hiding. Too many people are calling for his head. The media, including facebook (thank you Human Stupidity), have been inciting such violence from the start. When the major media outlets, and the federal government, want somebody dead, that person has reason to worry. It wouldn’t surprise me if Obama sent a drone against him – in the interests of “national security” of course.
Zimmerman already has roots in Peru; his mother is from there. He would probably be happier there, and a whole lot safer.

19 dead firefighters

It appears that all 19 of the firefighters, who died recently in an Arizona blaze, were white men. Given the aggressive push to get more women and non-whites into fire departments, we might have expected somebody to complain that there should be more faces of color among the dead. Yet, to the best of my knowledge, nobody is so complaining.
Had there been a recruitment billboard for Arizona firefighters featuring those who died on that fateful June day, we would never hear the end of how “racist” and “bigoted” that billboard is. There would be demands for the resignation of whoever designed or authorized it. The billboard would be held up as evidence of how backward and narrow minded Arizona is. We would be reminded that this is the state that tried to enforce our border with Mexico and make life difficult for those who enter illegally.
But this is not a recruitment billboard. It’s an image of 19 white men who  tragically lost their lives. A google search for “dead firefighters” and “white” yields results that mention the “White House” and the “white van” that took away the bodies. Nobody seems to pay attention, or care, that all the victims were white. Diversity is the national religion of America, but its followers show apathy when there is no diversity among the dead. It wouldn’t surprise me if certain Afro-centric, and Latino, groups are privately rejoicing. For them, the white man is a demon, and no amount of heroism can erase the sin of his white skin.
Mother nature was to blame for those 19 deaths, but the silence surrounding the race of the victims shows a certain measure of acquiescence. Had they been 19 black men, they would have been doubly mourned: Once for having died as young heroes, and again for having died as black men. Blacks would have mourned the loss of their young black men, and whites would have joined in.
Incidentally, when people die in a conflagration, it’s called a “holocaust”.

Humans can't transcend bullshit

While perusing Mangan’s blog recently, I followed his link to an article titled “Is Wine Bullshit?” In the article, Alex Mayyasi illustrates what many of us already know: That much of what we think we know about wine is smoke and mirrors. That even the so-called experts are often fooled by such tricks as coloring white wine red. He writes:

A Lafite Rothschild Bordeaux sells for a minimum of around $500 a bottle, while humble brands like Charles Shaw and Franzia sell for as little as $2. But as far as “wine economists” are concerned, the level of correlation between the price of a bottle of wine and its quality is low or nonexistent. In a number of damning studies, they suggest that wine is not just poorly priced, but that the different tastes we describe in wine may all be in our heads.
A 2008 paper in The Journal of Wine Economics, for example, found that when consumers are unaware of a wine’s price, they “on average enjoy more expensive wines slightly less [than cheap ones].” Experts do not fare much better. The study could not conclude that experts preferred more expensive wine: “In sum, we find a non-negative relationship between price and overall rating for experts. Due to the poor statistical significance of the price coefficient for experts, it remains an open question whether this coefficient is in fact positive.”
In another experiment, critics tasted one red wine and one white wine. They described the red in language typical of reds and the white in language typical of whites. The problem? Both were identical white wines; the “red” had been tinted with food coloring.

I’ll admit it. I drink cheap wine. There are literally hundreds of different types of wine, available in various markets, for under $10 a bottle. My cheese is typically more expensive than my wine.
But Mayyasi points out an important fact at the end of his article:

But what these studies really tell us is that our idea of taste as a constant, even if appreciated in subjectively different ways, is a fiction. Due to the complicated way that we experience taste – as an amalgamation of information from all 5 senses, our expectations, and how we think about what we are tasting – taste is easily manipulated.
Our enjoyment of good food is just as susceptible to trickery. Food dye can trick us into tasting a flavor like lemon or cheddar that is not actually present. Fish markets, restaurants, and sushi joints present less expensive fish as their more prestigious (and supposedly better tasting) peers unnoticed every day. This past year, Europeans happily ate up meatballs containing horsemeat, only expressing outrage when regulators revealed its presence.
Since a $5 wine can so easily be mistaken for a $50 wine, we encourage you to unabashedly reach for wine on the bottom shelf. We’ve applied this principle, often a bit self-righteously. But it should also give you pause about everything you eat and drink. If you boycott expensive wine, should you also avoid sushi and seafood restaurants because you know that cheap fish can be just as enjoyable? Embrace fast food chains’ practice of diluting the quality of their meat? If wine is bullshit, then isn’t everything else we eat and drink bullshit too?

No doubt. But why stop at food and drink? The entire human experience might be considered bullshit at one level or another. Are our senses truly faithful to reality? The very existence of matter is now subject to doubt; at the quantum level, everything appears to be energy frequencies. What we consider solid is not solid at all if we examine it closely enough.
But all this doesn’t matter much when you’re falling from a tall building. All the quantum physics, philosophy and enlightenment in the world will not help you when you reach the end of your fall. You’ll still end up a mangled pancake when your not-so-solid body makes contact with the not-so-solid pavement. Our perception of reality is accurate enough to have allowed us to survive as a species and navigate our world successfully.
I’m a bit surprised that Mangan himself didn’t make the connection between the Mayyasi’s wine article and race. Even if we’re mistaken about race-realism*, and there really is no difference between the races other than the superficial ones, this is enough to make race a reality. As humans, we cannot escape our own perceptions. We are what we are, and if we happen to be made of bullshit, then so be it. The sooner we come to terms with this, the better off we’ll be.
* But the science behind the the biological reality of race is overwhelming, and getting stronger every day.
