A dispassionate look at necrophilia

Under the innocent-looking heading “Sunday wrap-up”, countenance wrote:

Aw, hell no.  What next?  Are they going to say that dead people won’t be allowed to vote?

How many unsuspecting people innocently clicked on that link?  I clicked on it and now I’m psychologically scarred forever… oh wait, I was rather “eccentric” even before that; never mind.  Anyway, here’s an excerpt:

Prohibiting sex with a dead body corrects an obvious omission in the law, Beiser said.
If the measure passes, sex with a corpse would be a Class 2 felony, with punishment ranging from probation to seven years in prison. Unauthorized removal of a corpse would be a Class 4 felony, with a penalty ranging from probation to three years.

As a libertarian, I must ask myself, “Where is the victim when it comes to necrophilia?”  By and large, the comments contain some good points.  For example:

captain hero  said: Will this outlaw sex with dead animals? Phone/Web Cam sex with the dead? What if a person has a signed, notarized consent form permitting their partner to have sex with them post-mortem?
jimharris said: Spending time on legislation to stop sex with the dead…(and you wonder why the state is going bankrupt..).
Dick-Butcher said: They didn’t take this far enough because they made one-felony-fit-all for the offense. They should divide this into more categories such as hate-necrophila where the prosecutor alleges the sex is a hate crime because the corpse was of a different race or religion than the accused, or child-necrophilia if the corpse is under age 18, or patriot act-necrophilia where the accused is Muslim or cyberstalking-necrophiia if the act is recorded and placed on the internet. After all, you can never have too many laws on the books.

All good points.  The ancient Jewish sages once said “A person’s will is his honor”.  In other words, what is considered dishonorable for you may be perfectly honorable for somebody else; it depends on the opinion of the person in question.  As for me, if somebody decides to have sex with my body after I’m dead, I really don’t care.  As a matter of fact, I might consent when I’m still alive.  Consider what happens to your body after death: It rots in the ground, maggots and worms eat away at it, the skin peals away, the organs shrivel… well, you get the idea – and you’re going to worry about somebody messing around with it for a few minutes?  What about the embalming process?  Most Orthodox Jews do not have their loved ones embalmed; they consider it dishonorable.  I’m pretty sure some Muslims feel the same way.  It all depends on your priorities and sensitivities.  There is no “one size fits all” and if I am able to posthumously donate my organs, then I certainly have the right to grant legal immunity to anybody who has sex with my corpse.  If the State prosecutes anyway, then it is dishonoring me.
What if somebody used the body of one of my loved ones after her death?  Honestly, I would not want to know about it.  As long as I don’t know, no harm has been done.  As far as I’m concerned, the idiot who walks up to me and tells me is the real criminal.  This would be one of the rare cases where it really might be justified to “kill the messenger”.  Some things are best left unknown.
Does “society” as a whole suffer as a result of lewd acts upon the dead?  This might be the case where such acts are common and known.  But if only the perpetrator knows about it, then it is difficult to see what harm has been done.  If I were to stumble upon somebody engaging in such an act, then I would ask myself which course of action would be best for the family.  Typically, the answer would be: Don’t say a word about it.  If the survivors found out, it would only cause them untold, and needless, anguish.  Aren’t they suffering enough already?  I would also consider how much money would be wasted, by the government, in prosecuting the perpetrator.  Many thousands of dollars of tax-payer money would go down the drain.  I might consider hitting him over the head with his own shovel, but his embarrassment at having been caught might be punishment enough.
What about diseases?  I might be wrong, but it seems to me there would be health-risks involved with necrophilia.  Bizarre diseases, and bugs, might be passed on to the perpetrator’s living sex partners.  This is true – but it is also true that other sexual practices, and extramarital affairs, put spouses and girlfriends at risk.  Should they all be made felonies?  We need only look at certain Islamic nations to get an idea of what sort of society we would live in if such a mentality were taken to its logical conclusion.  I, for one, would not want to live in such a society; I’d rather endure the occasional perverted oddball than give the government those extra powers.  This is one of the prices we pay for freedom.  Some people will take their freedom and do strange, even disgusting, things.

Girl scout cookies

As I was leaving the grocery store yesterday, I was confronted with a mother and her two little girls.  They had set up a table to sell their girl scout cookies.  Well… I do have a soft spot for little girls, especially when they’re looking at me with the cutest look they can conjure up – which says “please buy some of my cookies”.
There is little doubt that, if I were to do some research, I’d discover that the Girl Scouts is a bastion of evil anti-whiteness.  That they do everything in their power to attract “girls of color” while neglecting white girls.  However, the girls in front of me were clearly white.  Looking over their cookies, almost all of them featured “people of color”.  Some had blacks, others had Asians or mestizos.  I doubt either the girls, or their mom, were even conscious of the fact that they were being marginalized.
I picked out the one box that featured a white girl.  Ironically, those cookies are called “Samoas”.

As I picked up the box, I told the girl nearest me, “I’ll take this one; it shows a girl who looks a bit like you!”
For the record, Samoan kids can be cute too.  Here’s a photo I took in Western Samoa that I’m particularly proud of:

… but they weren’t selling cookies.

The "Mantra"

Most of you have seen it.  It goes like this:

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.
The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.
Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.
What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?
How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?
And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?
But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.
They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.
Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.
The “cult of the mantra” has taken some heat from pro-whites.  For example, a comment on Unamusement Park reads:

“The Mantra”?
Damn, I hate the “mantra”. It’s silly that people copy and paste it as a cheap substitute for actually participating in discussions. Then when people (leftists) challenge them, they don’t actually back it up. I went through this on the SPLC blog not long ago.

Though I agree with Anna (the commenter on Unamusement Park) that a lot of people use the Mantra in the way she describes, I would also prefer organic, grass-fed, beef over the mass-produced, corn-fed, variety we find in grocery stores.  However, if the latter were not available, a lot of people might go hungry.  And like most people, I enjoy wholesome, home-cooked meals when they’re available.  But sometimes pre-packaged food is all that’s available, or all I can afford, or all I have time for.
Not everybody has the time, or the ability, to engage in meaningful conversations about race online.  Worse still, many pro-whites believe they have the ability to make eloquent points about the ongoing genocide against their people – but make themselves look like fools when they try; their posts are so full of spelling/grammatical errors that they make people unsympathetic to our cause.
I think it’s good that people have the option of a pre-packaged version of a pro-white argument.  It’s better than silence, it’s better than making yourself look like an idiot, and it might make some people start to ask questions and think.
As for Anna’s point about not backing it up, denizens of leftist boards are not interested in meaningful debate anyway.  If you do try to support the Mantra with facts and statistics, they won’t read them – and you’ll probably just get banned.  Therefore, with leftists it’s better to use the “knock-out game” tactic.  Strike them by surprise and strike them hard.  Then run and go somewhere else rather than waste your time with them “debating”.  The Mantra is as good a tool for this as any other.  I would add, however, that it should be changed periodically; there probably shouldn’t be just one “Mantra”, but the concept is a good one.

Dragon fruit: The best fruit in the world

A few years ago I was visiting Thailand, among other places, and I visited one of the outdoor marketplaces.  My intention was to find fruits that I had never tried, purchase some, bring them back to my hotel to consume them.  My expedition was fruitful.  At one end of the continuum was the durian fruit, which is barely even edible if not prepared right.  As a matter of fact, the smell is so bad that it is not unusual to see the following sign on hotel lobby walls:

I will spare you the details of how it looked, its consistency and flavor.  Locals would surely laugh if they saw me eating it raw and unprepared.  Don’t do it.
On the other end of the continuum was the almost too-good-to-be-true, dragon fruit.  Here’s what it looks like on the stand:

You can clearly see the look of envy on the other fruits

Imagine, if you will, a kiwi on steroids.  The dragon fruit is much larger than a kiwi, and it peels as easily as a banana.  There is no pit to worry about, and the seeds are small and greatly enhance its consistency.  The fresh ones I had in Thailand were mildly sweet and the flesh was somewhat firm and almost crunchy.  Eating it, for the first time, was so heavenly that I felt like I was in food nirvana.  Here’s what they look like on the inside (photo found online):

There is also a red-fleshed variety.  A coworker recently brought a dragon fruit to work for me.  I had previously told him about them and his local Winco grocery store had started carrying them.  He fell in love with them right away and bought a bunch for his family.  The ones he buys are inferior.  They are not fresh.  The flesh is not as firm as it should be, nor is it nearly as sweet as it should be.  One can see wrinkles forming on the outside.  Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Even an inferior dragon fruit is superior to the vast majority of other fruits.  In fact, I’m thinking about starting a religion based on the dragon fruit.  Of course, I would be the high priest.  I haven’t worked out the details yet.  Suggestions are welcome.

In praise of little girls

Somebody (I can’t remember who) sent me a news story about an Afghan man, and his mother, who murdered his wife for having daughters instead of sons:

Kunduz, Afghanistan (CNN) — Police in the northern Afghanistan province of Kunduz are looking for a man they say strangled his wife after she bore him a third child that was not a son.
Sher Mohammed, 29, married his 22-year-old wife, Storay, four years ago, police said.
The couple had three daughters, the last of whom was born three months ago, said Khanabad district police chief Sufi Habib.
After the youngest daughter was born, Mohammed blamed his wife for not being able to deliver a boy, Habib said.
“Finally on Saturday, the man, with the help of his mother, first beat the woman and then strangled her to death,” the police chief said.

I’ll admit that I, too, wanted a son.  My own wife had borne three daughters and all I wanted was one son.  But I never considered killing my wife over this; there were plenty of legitimate reasons to be angry with her – but that’s another story.
As it turned out, the very next child was a boy.  He was a handful, very cute and full of energy.  As he grew, we spent hours playing, wrestling, and having all sorts of fun.  But there’s a special kind of love a father has for his daughters.  If there’s anything more cute than a kitten, it’s a little girl – your own little girl.  The affection I felt, and still feel, toward my daughters was so great, it was almost painful.  I enjoyed playing with their hair, teasing them and carrying them on my shoulders.  While I’m happy they grew up, I would gladly pay to have those early years back – just for a while.  When I dream about my daughters, they are always still little girls.  They will always be my little girls, even when they’re in their 60’s.
As for the Afghan individual who murdered his wife (assuming he’s guilty), he should have been grateful to her, not angry.  She brought something beautiful into the world – something that he should have valued above all else.  May all the curses of Allah be upon him and upon his mother.

Another black-on-white "non-hate crime"

Portland’s free weekly leftist rag, “Willamette Week” just published an article about the practice of “G-ing”.  It is a form of hazing practiced by high school students and, technically, it is a form of rape:

“G-ing” in the Spotlight

Grant High students speak out about the locker-room assaults.

For the past four weeks, Grant High School in Northeast Portland has been under a cloud of scrutiny and shame. Four of its students face criminal investigation for allegedly assaulting two of their junior varsity boys basketball teammates in the locker room.
One assault, police say, may have been sexual: A player is accused of trying to stick his finger in the anus of a boy held down by teammates—a practice known as G-ing…
On Jan. 12, four JV basketball players allegedly attacked two of their teammates in the Grant locker room after a game against Centennial, more than a month and a half into the season. Their coach, Jon Blumenauer, had left the locker room, and someone turned off the lights.
One player said teammates held him down while another tried to insert a finger in his anus. His compression shorts stopped them. The other player reported being beaten up by teammates as he tried to leave the locker room after the first attack.
G-ing is a widely known term among students and isn’t a play on the name of Grant High. Instead, it’s a mocking reference to stimulating a woman’s G spot.
People familiar with the case say the four boys involved in the attack are African-American; the two alleged victims are white. Three of the students involved in the attack were suspended and have returned to school; a fourth has been expelled for the school year. All four have been kicked off the JV basketball team.

I could not help but notice that the overall tone of the article, until the point where the race of the perpetrators and victims is mentioned, is ambiguous.  The author, Hannah Hoffman, can’t seem to figure out if the crime is a serious one or not.  However, from the moment the racial aspect is mentioned, the overall tone seems to change to one of “maybe it really isn’t such a big deal.”  Naturally, Hoffman needed to point out that…

Students told WW they don’t think the incident was prompted by race. Others say they feel sorry for the boys who got in trouble, believing they were caught up in locker-room clowning that got out of control.

All we know from this, assuming Willamette Week is not outright lying, is that at least two students (out of a student body of 1,577) said they don’t think the incident was prompted by race.  Did Willamette Week conduct a survey?  Did they hear other opinions – and then fail to report them?  Did they ask until they found the opinion they wanted?  We can only guess, but I’d be willing to bet that some students would disagree.
Regardless what the students may believe, we can add this incident to the long list of black-on-white crimes that were “not hate-crimes”.  I have not been able to find a single such incident, in the Portland area, where the perpetrators were white and the victims black.  If  there were to be such an incident, we can rest assured that one of the first things we would hear about it would be that “hate-crime charges are being considered.”

Thank you Gay State Girl

After I was attacked on Robert Linday’s blog, Gay State Girl came to my defense.  This is some of what she wrote:

If you delve deeper into JAY’s blog, you’ll find out that he is quite sympathetic to the Palestinians-and he reserves his biting rhetoric for Blacks and Latinos, (which is contradictory in itself as he also claims their behaviors are inate) my emphasis

Thank you Gay State Girl.  Now let me address the “contradiction” in my approach.
Yes, I believe genetics has a role in behavior, and that the responsible genes/alleles are not evenly distributed among human populations.  This much should not even be controversial.  It would take an act of God to see to it that humanity was uniform in this respect.  It also would not make any sense, given the huge variation in environments that humans have adapted to.
But I do not believe that humans are automatons with no free will, or that they lack responsibility for their own actions.  For example, my own genetics cause me to be attracted to that beautiful woman I see walking down the street.  Yet I do not pounce on her and have my way with her.  This is because I am intelligent enough to understand both morality and consequences.  Even if my I.Q. were 85, I would still be able to restrain myself.  This is why even the not-so-bright are punished for their crimes.  People who are truly mentally retarded are not held responsible for their crimes; they are held to the same moral standard as animals.
Most blacks and Hispanics are not mentally retarded.  They have the ability to make choices.  We understand that, since they tend to be less intelligent than whites and Asians, on average they will make poorer choices than the latter.  But this does not absolve individuals from responsibility. Our genes help define who we are.  They give us strengths and challenges.  It is up to each of us to make the best of our lot.  Therefore, we have the right to praise, or condemn, others based on their choices.
Furthermore, there are enough bright people within the black and Hispanic communities to serve as leaders.  These leaders should take the weaknesses of their respective groups into consideration.  A true leader understands his people and keeps their best interest in mind.  Black leaders should be encouraging blacks to pursue livelihoods that fit their skills and aptitudes.  Instead, they tell their flock that every single one of them is Ivy League material.
Hispanic leaders should be looking at what makes white societies so successful and such a pleasure to live in.  Then they should urge Hispanics to be more like whites in those respects.  Instead, they tell their flock that the U.S. should be a part of Mexico.  If Mexicans come here for “a better life”, then this is the exact opposite of what they should be advocating.
But our grievance is also against the powerful people who deny us the right to live among our own.  Even if nature has condemned black and Hispanic societies to be less desirable than white ones, whites would not end up suffering from them if not for the forced integration policies that have been put in place.  We need to place the blame, for these policies, where it belongs and work to change them.  So, when I direct my “biting rhetoric” at blacks and Hispanics, it’s not that I care about how they run their own societies.  It’s because I resent the fact that we are not allowed to separate from them and enjoy our own.

Those dastardly Mormons

Human stupidity sent me an interesting story (he sends me a lot of stuff) about how the Mormons have apologized for posthumously baptizing Jewish Holocaust survivors:

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Mormon church leaders apologized to the family of Holocaust survivor and Jewish rights advocate Simon Wiesenthal after his parents were posthumously baptized, a controversial ritual that Mormons believe allows deceased people a way to the afterlife but offends members of many other religions.

Wiesenthal died in 2005 after surviving the Nazi death camps and spending his life documenting Holocaust crimes and hunting down perpetrators who remained at large. Jews are particularly offended by an attempt to alter the religion of Holocaust victims, who were murdered because of their religion, and the baptism of Holocaust survivors was supposed to have been barred by a 1995 agreement.

Yet records indicate Wiesenthal’s parents, Asher and Rosa Rapp Wiesenthal, were baptized in proxy ceremonies performed by Mormon church members at temples in Arizona and Utah in late January.

In a statement, the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced the baptismal rites.

“We are outraged that such insensitive actions continue in the Mormon temples,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean at the center.

The church immediately apologized, saying it was the actions of an individual member of church — whom they did not name — that led to the submission of Wiesenthal’s name.

“We sincerely regret that the actions of an individual member of the church led to the inappropriate submission of these names,” Michael Purdy, a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in a statement issued Monday. “We consider this a serious breach of our protocol and we have suspended indefinitely this person’s ability to access our genealogy records.”

“Outraged”, “insensitive” and “apologized” seem to be all-to-common words these days.  Why stop at being “outraged”?  Why not use boiling oil, testicle-crushers and toe- screws on those evil Mormons?  How dare they desecrate the names of Holocaust victims by using them in their private ceremonies!  Apologies?  How about posthumous circumcisions (by a bearded rabbi) on all deceased Mormons. Take ’em out of their graves and posthumously circumcise them, even the ones who are still alive!  That’ll show ’em!!
Or better yet:  Yawn and bake some hamentashen.  Hamentashen, according to Jewish folklore, commemorate the failure of Haman (in the Book of Esther) to kill all the Jews.  Now that was something to be worried about.  Yes, I would worry about somebody wanting to kill all the Jews (even a few of us).  I would not worry about somebody “posthumously baptizing” some Holocaust survivors.  Somehow, I doubt the actual “victims” would have been all too worried about it either.
As a token of goodwill, I’ll allow the Mormons to posthumously baptize me too – for a fee of course.

Should "white" be capitalized?

I was recently attacked, at American Renaissance, for not capitalizing “white” in the context of the white race.  Here is the thread in question:

Me: Here’s a bizarre twist:  The “mainstream media” is reporting this!  I saw it on Yahoo news. But don’t hold your breath and expect them to report black on white mayhem.  After all, a profanity-laced comment by a celebrity is far more important than a few thousand white and Asian lives ruined due to black violence.
Anon: Capitalize White if you are going to capitalize “Asian”.
Me: “Asian” means a person from the continent of Asia.  So, even though we often use the term in a more narrow sense, it has become convention to capitalize the word.  “White”, “black” and “brown”, on the other hand, are colors.  Colors are not capitalized, so the convention is to use lower-case even for ethnicities that derive their names from those colors.  If I were to capitalize “white”, then I’d also have to capitalize “black”.  Yet I don’t see you insisting that I capitalize “black”, nor is it considered correct to capitalize “brown” when referring to Mexicans, Indians etc.
Juggernaut: The term “brown” is not used by the media to refer to a people group because it is considered demeaning.  It is either “Hispanic” or “Mexican-American.”  Both capitalized.  I doubt a single media outlet anywhere allows the term “brown” to be used in reference to Hispanics.
“African-American” is the preferred term for blacks in the media.  I have seen nothing else used in higher education.  Note the capitalization.
The term “Indian” is rarely used, the pc term is “Native-American,” which the media use solely.  I doubt there’s a single style book left that suggests “Indian” be used instead of  Native American .  Ditto higher education.   Always capitalized.
“white” (uncapitalized) is used by the media to demean Whites as a people group.  Please start capitalizing it.  The word “Jewish” used in reference to people is never left uncapitalized.
The style manuals of  the American Psychological Association, the venerable Chicago Manual of Style, and the University of Pittsburgh all say to capitalize White.
Me: I see your point.  But I also notice that you don’t capitalize “blacks”.  I’m looking for consistency.

The general consensus, in the wider world of English language “authorities” seems to support what I wrote.  For example, this is from the Helium guidelines:

RACE
Capitalize names of races (African-American, Caucasian, Asian, Native American), but do not capitalize “black” or “white” when referring to race. See also Sensitivities (page 12).

Obviously, “African-American” is the P.C. substitute for the more accurate “Negro”; we wouldn’t describe the president of Ghana as “African-American.  “Negro”, according to this, should be capitalized.  Helium’s guidelines are based upon those of the Associated Press, which state that capitalization is to be used for…

ethnic groups:
The preferred usage for African Americans is “black.” The term is not capitalized.
Preferred usage for Caucasians is “white,” also not capitalized.
Preferred usage for Asian people is “Asian,” capitalized. Please note that in British usage the term applies only to people of the Indian Subcontinent.
“American Indian,” capitalized with no hyphen, is preferred over “Native American.”

However, other sources are unclear about this.  For example:

Capitalize the names of religions, races, and nationalities
Example:
Iranian (nationality)
African-American (race)
Muslim (religion)

So, if we’re using the word “white”, or “black” as the name of a race, then perhaps it should be capitalized.  I would add that even if “white” is not being used to describe a race, but an ethnic group (such as American Whites), it would still be capitalized.  After all, as Juggernaut points out, “Jewish” is always capitalized.  Similarly, “Gypsy” and “Roma” are capitalized because it is an established ethnic group.  “Jewish” is capitalized not only by virtue of being an established ethnic group, but also because Jews originally came from “Judea”, which was a (capitalized) nation.  “Asians” come from “Asia”, which is a (capitalized) continent.  Whites come, primarily, from Europe – and “European” is capitalized just like “Asian”.  Blacks come, primarily, from Africa – and “African” is also capitalized.
We live in a transitional era where “white” does not exactly refer to race, nor does it exactly refer to an ethnic group.  “White” can be either a description or the name of a race, depending on context and who is doing the writing.  In our era, whites are a people in the making, as I have pointed out elsewhere.  Since “white” and “black” can mean many things during this transition, there is much confusion.
I think consistency is important.  So, if we are to capitalize “White”, we should also capitalize “Black”.  By bringing them to the New World as slaves, early Americans began the formation of a new ethnicity:  The American Black ethnicity.  With the founding of America, two new nations were conceived.  Some would say more.
As it stands, whether to capitalize “white” and “black” should be up to individual discretion.  Thus far, I have chosen to use lower-case.  If it makes my fellow pro-whites happy, I would gladly switch to upper-case.  However, if I do so, I’ll be using upper-case for “black” as well.  I don’t see the point in getting into a “capitalization war” where people capitalize only their own race; that would be silly.
