Whites in African universities?

I was reading an article, linked to in American Renaissance, about how some British colleges have neglected to enroll black students over the last several years.  This got me thinking… do African institutions of higher learning seek white students?
I found that the University World News – Africa Edition, ranks African universities based on their internet presence.  This is an imperfect method of ranking, to be sure.  For what it’s worth, the top universities were, conspicuously, in North Africa and South Africa.  In other words, the ones in almost exclusively black African countries were not among the leaders.  The article states:

There are 11 South African and four Egyptian universities in the latest Africa Top 20 of the Web Ranking of World Universities, which rates institutions based on the size and quality of their internet presence. There is also one institution each from Kenya, Senegal, Namibia, Morocco and Tanzania.
The generally poor internet connectivity of Africa’s universities place the continent at a distinct disadvantage in terms of electronic ranking measurement. Those countries with the greatest connectivity, notably South Africa and Egypt, have the most universities in the Top 100, and with 16 institutions in the Top 100 Morocco also achieves a strong presence.

I have already pointed out elsewhere that, if diversity is such a strength, certainly black Africa should be encouraged to pursue it; let them give incentives for white and Asian students to enroll in their colleges and universities.  But it is forbidden to say such things publicly – because dogma states that blacks are already diverse people while whites are not.  In other words whites are considered all the same, and therefore in need of “diversity” but blacks, being the embodiment of diversity itself, need no outside help.  This is what passes for “conventional wisdom” and to suggest otherwise is “racist”.
So, if blacks do not need “diversity”, one would think that they would not complain about this situation.  Not so.  Consider this comment, from the above site:

I think the issue of this ranking has been politicised because those universities claimed to hold the high position are universities where white students are found and who are the judges? Are they not white? If South Africa can boast of many universities being rated high why are they bringing their wards down to Obafemi Awolowo University here in Nigeria? I have many of them as friends who will admit that when it comes to the issue of sound education their country can never be compared with Nigeria. (emphasis mine).

So, not only are whites excluded from black African universities, but it is whites who are then blamed for this phenomenon and its ramifications.
In a nutshell, whites are racist for keeping (even unwittingly) their historic institutions white – but it would also be racist for whites to demand representation in historically black institutions… and it is white racism that is responsible for the low rankings of those all-black institutions.  You simply cannot win if you are white.  Unless, of course, you do not mind being considered a “racist”.  And this is the best approach – as many have been saying for years.

Religion: what good is it?

I have just viewed the video series “Why do People Laugh at Creationists” by Thunderf00t.  It is an excellent series and I highly recommend it if you find the time.  In this series, Thunderfoot pokes fun at those who promote “intelligent design”.  The series is very artfully done and includes lots of skillful effects, making it quite entertaining.  His creationist enemies come off looking like a bunch of clueless morons who lack not only the most elementary knowledge of science, but also any sound ethics.  Thunderfoot targets not only Christian fundamentalists, but also Muslims and, to a much lesser extent, Jews.
All this is good and well, and his points are well taken.  He has done humanity a great service through the production of these videos.  But the question remains: is there a legitimate function for organized religion in modern society?  More to the point, does society at large benefit from the fact that so many of its members believe in the Bible or the Quran?
A while ago, I posted about an extraordinary book called “The Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind”.  An underlying theme of Julian Jayne’s theory is that the development of consciousness represents a weaning of the human race.  It was (assuming the theory is correct) a weaning from a state where decisions were made for us to a state where we had to make our own decisions.  In a sense, this transformation was an essential stage in the maturity of the human race.  Just as a child must reach a point where he no longer depends upon his parents to guide his every move, but must ponder his own decisions and fate – so too does humanity stand at the very same crossroads.
This transformation has been progressing for many centuries.  It has not been a smooth one.  Rather, there have been many instances of regression.  It is easier to be a child than to be an adult and many people would prefer that divine voices tell them what to do rather than accept the responsibility themselves.  This ongoing process of growing up, like the transformation from bicameralism to “Jaynesian consciousness” before it, does not take place at one universal rate throughout the world.  Rather, some races/ethnicities seem to mature quicker than others.
Many (mostly on the “left”) love to point out how blacks tend to be more spiritual and more religious.  Of the various explanations given for this phenomenon, one is conspicuously missing: blacks need the crutch of religion more to maintain the rudiments of a civil society.  Perhaps, deep in their hearts, they know this; I suspect that some have even said so publicly.  To be fair, many whites also need this crutch.  As a society, we should ask: Are we better off that many NAM’s have some sort of religious faith or are we worse off?  With the exception of radical Islam, I think the answer is clear that we are better off.  Religion can often tame the beast; it can make a positive difference in the lives of many people.  We all benefit from this indirectly.
Religion is a complex institution.  Each flavor can be interpreted in myriad ways.  We can view it as a tool for personal advancement (and hopefully, “advancement” means positive growth and not blowing people up).  I am not sure that there are lessons to be learned from religion that cannot be learned without it – but this does not negate the fact that many people find this easier if religion is their vehicle.
There are atheists who are moral people.  My brother is a good example; he cares deeply about his fellow human beings, strives to be a good citizen and supports his family.  Yet he has no expectation of any sort of eternal reward for his efforts.  He does what he does because he believes it is right.  I am not claiming that all card-carrying atheists are this way, only that those who are have reached a threshold in their maturity where they can stand on their own morally.  They represent, in my view, the next stage in our Jaynesian evolution.  It would be interesting to know what percentage of these “conscientious atheists” are white.  My guess is almost all of them – with a sprinkling of Asians.
As siblings grow up, some take longer to throw away their pacifiers, while others are quicker.  A good parent or sibling would not ridicule a slow child for his pace in growing up; he would have patience and continue to love the child.  So too should we view those who cling to organized religion as their crutch.  If they need it, and if it makes them better people, then we should support them and be kind toward them.  We should not take pleasure in bursting the bubbles of their faith just for fun.  I would condemn any individual who marched into a Mennonite school with the intention of sabotaging the religious instruction of the children.  The Mennonites enjoy an overall healthy and cohesive community.  What good would come of destroying it?  Ultimately, those children will grow up and be able to make their own decisions.
Organized religion can have another function: To maintain the identity of an ethnic group.  Obviously, without Judaism, there would be no Jews.  Hence, organized religion can play a pivotal role in defending one’s genetic interests – though we would be hard-pressed to find any adherent who would cite this as the reason he is a believer.  Yet even the believers would surely agree that, for a people in exile, there is no future without some sort of cohesive force – and religion is the best such force anybody has been able to come up with.
When organized religion poses a danger to our society by overstepping its bounds (within the context of our modern world), then we need to fight them tooth and nail.  This is when we must expose their fallacies – and this is exactly what Thunderf00t does.

Can Phoenicia be restored?

I have found a fascinating website that details the history, and contributions, of the Phoenician people.  It is not unusual for Lebanese to take pride in their Phoenician heritage.  But is it accurate to call  some modern Lebanese “Phoenician”?
Lebanon has seen many invasions over the last two thousand years.  To the casual observer, it would appear that the Phoenicians have gone the way of the renowned Cedar forests of Lebanon.  After all, practically every component of ancient Phoenician culture has disappeared.  Their religion is gone.  Their language is gone.  Their dress, dance, music and mores are all gone.  Therefore, it would follow that the Phoenicians themselves are gone.
Of course all of the above applies, to one extent or another, to Jews as well.  Even the Jewish religion is, arguably, not the same religion it was in ancient times; it has “evolved” almost beyond recognition.  Yet nothing stops us Jews from calling ourselves “Jews”.  Probably because there has been a continuous ethnic identity with us.  I do not believe the same can be said about the Phoenicians.  But who says continuity is a prerequisite for ethnic identity?
I say let modern Lebanese call themselves “Phoenician” if they wish.
I do wonder if any efforts are being made to restore some of the ancient traits of Phoenicians.  Is ancient Hebrew (AKA Phoenician) being revived in Lebanon?  Are the old gods being restored?  Is traditional Phoenician garb making a comeback?  Making themselves distinctive, in some way, from the surrounding non-Phoenician populations, would go a long way toward restoring their identity.  If this is, indeed, their endeavor, then they certainly have my blessing – as long as they refrain from practices such as human sacrifice.
Note: The site listed above, includes audio recordings of Aramaic being read for Christian ceremonies.  To me, it sounds like they are being read in a Persian accent.  Therefore, the gutturals have been compromised.  Some of the vowels also sound Persian – but there is no way to know how they would have been pronounced, exactly, in antiquity.

The ten most traumatic films…

According to The Vine, these films were so scary that they destroyed the psyches of countless children.  What was so horrible about each of them?
10)  “Meet the Feebles” shows a muppet shooting up drugs in a bathroom.
9)  “Candyman” plays on our superstitious fears with a bloodthirsty ghost.
8)  “It” features a scary clown.  Need I say more?
7)  “Poltergeist” involves children being attacked by monsters under their beds.
6)  “Grease 2” is a musical featuring an all-white cast.
5)  “Nightmare on Elm St.” might explain why insomnia is so prevalent these days.
4)  “Child’s Play” would make any child wary of playing with dolls ever again.
3)  “The Exorcist” takes the innocence out of childhood in many ways.
2)  “Watership Down” depicts cuddly rabbits being torn apart by dogs and such.
1)  “Return to Oz” has Dorothy being chased around by creepy long-legged spider-like men.  As an alternative, #1 has Dorothy being chased by headless zombies.
Now I ask you, which one of the above seems out of place?  If you guessed #6 then you might have dangerous ideas in your head.  An all-white cast?  Horror of horrors!  Though the author, “lukeryan” would have us believe that the real horror is the music involved.  Really, it’s not that bad.

Rhinoplasty: a crime against nature

Say what you will about the Iranians.  It might be so that many of them are Islamic fanatics.  That they can be temperamental – there is probably some truth to that as well.  But why is it that so many of them are dissatisfied with their own natural look?  Yes, it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  But I, for one, find Iranians to be quite attractive people overall.  Their women are famous for their beauty, and yet Iran is the epicenter of a rhinoplasty  craze.
There is much to be said about prominent, aquiline noses – especially in the Middle East.  Conventional theory tells us that large noses evolved in arid regions so that they could warm cold air before it enters the lungs.  I don’t buy it.  To me, it is obvious that some ancient peoples simply found large noses to be attractive and here we have a case of sexual selection.
It seems that, according to some “experts”, a convex nose is a “defect”.   But King Xerxes, of ancient Persia, would have been deeply offended to learn that his nose was anything but perfect.  Any plastic surgeon who dared recommend that he get his “nose done”, would himself have been done in through scaphism.

I wonder if those “experts” would have considered Sargon the Great’s nose to be defective as well.  Sargon would probably have had them impaled for saying such a thing – and rightfully so!

The Assyrians came from the far North of the Middle East, near the Caucasus Mountain area – which was far from arid.  Yet they too seemed to have no problem showing off their distinctive noses.  Here we have King Ashurnasirpal proudly displaying his for all the world to see:

The ancient Hittites were famous for their noses.  Even though they were counted among the seven cursed nations of Canaan, it is likely they contributed to Jewish ancestry enough to give Jews this reputation as well.  On behalf of my fellow Jews, who inherited this feature, I give thanks to the Hittites.  Alas!  I was left out of this legacy.

Ancient Egyptians  appreciated the hawkish nose of Pharaoh Ramses the Great so much that they took great pains to preserve it for eternity.  Anybody caught drawing unflattering caricatures of the pharaoh, as they do now with Ahmadinejad, might have found himself buried alive.

The Mayan Indians highly valued noses that modern plastic surgeons would have considered “defective”.  This is certainly a case of sexual selection.  It would not surprise me if those with deficient noses were selected for sacrifice to the gods.

The “Roman nose” is famous – and probably really does go back to the Romans.  The Romans actually had a name for those with a large, hooked nose: “nasones“.  Anybody who ridiculed it would probably have been crucified.

The Hapsburgs, inbred as they were, may have considered their prominent noses to be evidence of their royal Roman ancestry.

Even the British seem to have appreciated prominent noses.  Although English noses tend to be more modest, so many noteworthy Englishmen are shown in a manner that emphasizes their noses that it appears those who had it flaunted it.  I suspect that artists would even embellish it as flattery.

I think it is interesting that the peoples whose noses were generally concave, flat, small or pug were also the ones most likely to be subjugated by other peoples.  The Negroes and Slavs were both used as slaves while the Celts have spent the last 1,500 years in gradual retreat and struggle for survival.  As for the East Asians, they were too far away to be affected by this Western phenomenon.

Hillsboro School District faces budget cuts

The Oregonian reported that the Hillsboro School District faces a “big budget cut” for 2011-2012.   It seems the district will have to tighten its belt and it is looking for ways to do this.
I couldn’t help but wonder how much money is spent on “diversity” by the school district.  On the districts website is a table showing budget cuts, and increases, by category as compared to prior years.  I found it interesting that “No further expansion of Espanol para Ti” is considered a “budget cut”.  Since when is a lack of expansion a “cut”?  I suspect the answer is that it is a “cut” when the Hispanic student population is growing.  The document also states that:

Programs and personnel funded by grants—like special education, migrant education and Title 1—are largely untouched in a budget cutting situation, as money from those grants cannot legally be used to offset shortfalls in the General Fund.

No doubt both “special education” and “Title 1” (which means programs for “at-risk” children) are focused disproportionately on Hispanic students.  “Migrant education” is certainly just a euphemism for “government handouts for illegal immigrants and their children”.  So, regardless of the state of the economy – and no matter how much the rest of us suffer – these programs cannot be touched.
Despite the budget shortfall, the list of increases to last year’s budget is a fairly long one.   Included are the following items:

1 FTE licensed for the Office of Hispanic Outreach (funding from grant sources ended in 2005-06)
8 FTE classified targeted to provide bilingual support in campus front offices
2 FTE classified to accommodate student population growth needs
1.17 FTE classified allocated to Miller Education Center to accommodate program needs and support expanded enrollment…
1 FTE classified for the Office of Hispanic Outreach…
$20,000 allocated to increase support for translation services for Spanish and other languages…
8 FTE classroom teachers to serve as literacy, math, science and ESL coaches at the 14 non-Title elementary and secondary schools…
2.35 FTE classroom teachers to reduce the caseload of English as a Second Language (ESL) specialists…
3 FTE classified Hispanic Outreach staff – moved from grant funding
1 FTE classified Daycare/Teen Parent position to meet state mandated child/adult ratio requirements

Expanded enrollment” means “to accommodate the population growth due almost entirely to immigration from Mexico” since, without such immigration, there is no population growth in the U.S. to speak of.  Hillsboro has a very large Mexican population.  As for teen parents, I’ve already explained, in a separate post, that this is a largely Hispanic phenomenon.  Perhaps I missed it, but I could not find any actual reductions in funding to any programs that are primarily focused on diversity.  It would appear that Hillsboro students could be reduced to scratching their lessons in the dirt – but “diversity” will still be fully funded.
On another note,  superintendent Mike Scott says:

“The last couple of years, we’ve been trimming away at the budget…  We’re at the point now where it’s not trimming anymore. It’s changing the way we’re doing business.”

One of the things that annoys me about government is the way they attempt to disguise what they do by referring to their activities as “business” and their victims as “customers”.  In my mind, a “business” is a consensual activity where one party agrees to sell, while another agrees to buy.  A “customer” is a person who chooses to avail himself of a good or service.  By using such terminology, Scott seeks to fool homeowners into believing that the property tax they pay is a voluntary affair.  We all know what happens to the homeowner who chooses to cease being a “customer” of the school district: his home will be seized and he will end up living under a bridge – where a different set of government goons will probably harass him for other reasons.

From "right/left" to "right/wrong"

The time has come for thoughtful people to change our paradigm.  For too long, we have adhered to the ever more irrelevant reference points of “right versus left” or “conservative versus liberal”.  According to this outdated mode of thinking, which I myself have been guilty of, a person might define his political views as “conservative, but not as conservative as a neo-Nazi” or “liberal, but not as liberal as an avowed Communist“.
This flawed world-view, being based on arbitrary set-points, is unstable and makes it difficult to steer people toward the only positions that matter – truthful positions – and to keep them there.  The old continuum might look something like this:

Most readers of this blog would find themselves somewhere in the middle of this continuum.  In this view, a rabid anti-Semitic neo-Nazi would be on the far right along with those who believe in individual rights.  On the far left would be the collectivists and those who completely deny the reality of race but who hate whites as a group.
I think that any world-view continuum that encourages people to place themselves somewhere in the middle encourages floating and almost ensures that one’s children will float a bit to the right or a bit to the left of their parents.  The ideal situation would be for all of us to strive to be “extremists”.  The truth (regardless of how you, personally, define it) should be on the far right and the false should be on the far left.  In other words, let the “right” remain right – except that it will now mean “correct”.  “Left” will be replaced by “wrong”.
In this world view, which would free us from the crippling old paradigm and at the same time serve as a propaganda tool for us, we would always have good neighbors.  Nazis and Communists would be close to each other and floating would be minimized; each of us would place himself at the far right of the continuum:

The reason I place “eliminate Jews” along with “eliminate whites” is not so much that I don’t like either idea.  Rather, it is because both positions seem to be based on mental illness and hysteria.  Just as anti-whites blame every evil on whites, so do anti-Semites blame every evil on Jews.  Both take their positions to absurd extremes and refuse to acknowledge more refined explanations of the world they observe.
The reason I included “peaceful” in the first continuum, but not in the second, is that peace is not always correct even though most of us desire it.  Sometimes war is correct – for example, if it is necessary for your survival.  In the old world-view, war is associated with both the extreme right and the extreme left.  In the new world-view, it can be neutral.
I left the economic/collectivist versus individual continuum in place for the new world-view because reasonable people have been openly debating the “centrist” versus the “libertarian” views for a long time.  Therefore, I decided I might as well present it according to my own views for the time being.  More refined continua can be developed over time.
How do objective people determine which camps belong on the wrong (left) side of the continuum and which on the right?  There is a simple way to do this without even having to spend a lot of time doing research: simply observe which camps are willing to openly discuss and defend their positions.  This is a good rule of thumb: any camp that is unwilling to openly debate their views belongs on the wrong side of the continuum.  Of course there are some groups that are quite willing to debate, but they still belong on the “wrong” side because they are hysterical.
One reason we should divorce ourselves from the old left/right paradigm is that decades of media bias have polluted it – probably beyond repair.  The masses, and many thinking people with them, have been conditioned to think of the left as right and the right (or what used to be called “right”) as wrong.  In this way, they have so shifted public opinion that what is now considered “right” or “conservative” would have been called “leftist” only a generation or two ago.  Few people want to associate themselves with beliefs that are widely held to be “wrong” or “evil” and the establishment left has done a good job of convincing the public that values that used to be considered good and wholesome are, in fact, evil and racist.  “Good” and “bad” are judgments that are too easily colored by those with agendas.  “True” and “false” stand a better chance of being defended – at least among those who can think for themselves.
Of course we can never completely avoid making judgments about “good” and “bad”, but once the new world-view is adopted, we would be better equipped to make “good” align with “true” and “bad” align with “wrong” as accurately as possible.  It would be a return to a more male way of thinking.  The old “right/left” paradigm seems to me to be more emotion-based; it fits in well with the feminist way of thinking.  It may have its place – but it should not be our dominant political world-view.

"Don't ask, don't tell" and rape

The Left is full of contradictions.  For example, their ongoing outcry about the alarming prevalence of rape stands in stark contrast to their total silence regarding the fact that, of all groups, black men are the most likely to rape.  Leftists have ideological reasons for distorting rape statistics.  They manipulate them to fool the public.  For example:

The Criminal

  • The average age of a rapist is 31 years old.2
  • 52% are white.2
  • 22% of imprisoned rapists report that they are married.2
  • Juveniles accounted for 16% of forcible rape arrestees in 1995 and 17% of those arrested for other sex offenses.2
  • In 1 in 3 sexual assaults, the perpetrator was intoxicated — 30% with alcohol, 4% with drugs.3
  • In 2001, 11% of rapes involved the use of a weapon — 3% used a gun, 6% used a knife, and 2 % used another form of weapon.2
  • 84% of victims reported the use of physical force only.2

2)  U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Statistics. 1997 Sex Offenses and Offenders Study. 1997.

The U.S. Department of Justice, from whence RAINN* got their data, includes Hispanics as “white” when they are perpetrators – but as “Hispanic” when they are victims.   So, in fact, far less than 52% of rapists are white.  The table also neglects to mention that 52% is considerably less than the 66% of the population that whites comprise.  It would have been far more useful to include a statistic on black perpetrators – but, of course, they would never do this.  Thus, their data is misleading on several levels.
Are leftists truly anti-rape?  They say they are.  And yet they refuse to recognize the elephant in the room: black rape.  Furthermore, they support open homosexuality in the military.  Now it appears that even the Pentagon has taken this stance.  Has common sense completely been thrown out the window?  While it is true that the U.S. military is now a volunteer force, economic realities often leave young people few alternatives.  In any case, military personnel are stuck with each other for better or for worse.
Men in prison are also stuck with each other – and  prison rape has been an ongoing problem for years.  Is the Left aiming to create similar conditions in the military?  As it stands, there is already a rape problem in the armed forces.

What does it tell us that female soldiers deployed overseas stop drinking water after 7 p.m. to reduce the odds of being raped if they have to use the bathroom at night? Or that a soldier who was assaulted when she went out for a cigarette was afraid to report it for fear she would be demoted — for having gone out without her weapon? Or that, as Representative Jane Harman puts it, “a female soldier in Iraq is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire.”

One wonders what sort of person would not have predicted such an outcome.  Obviously, if young women are put in close quarters with young men in the military, there are going to be problems with rape.  And yet this is exactly what the Left has been demanding all these years.  When they demand that openly gay people be accepted into the military, I get the impression that they want men to be raped by other men.  In their twisted world view, this would be a form of payback – just as leftists believe it is payback when white school children are tormented, threatened and murdered by their black classmates.  According to the Left, all whites must suffer for the sins of a few long ago.  So too, as many men as possible must be made to suffer for the sins of other men.
* Naturally, RAINN’s website includes a “donate” option and a “join us” option – but no feedback options of any kind.

The Tatar Tot Princess

When the Tatar king met a Hottentot heiress,
their union together made the Tatar Tot princess.

Tho’ blessed with wealth, privilege and toys in profusion,
she suffered from pangs of ethnic confusion.

As she grew in stature and turned into a woman,
her search for a suitor was fraught with frustration.

She fell for a Xhosa, who seemed a good fit,
but it soon became clear, they just didn’t click.

A tall Hindu man offered a lot,
but his parents objected, for she had not a dot.

An Afrikaner was handsome and kind and adoring,
but much to her dismay, she found he was boering.

Memories from the Steppes came back to her father,
the King of the Tatars knew what was best for his daughter.

Wisdom of yore told him just what to do,
the husband of his daughter – must be a Jew!

So the Tatar Tot princess was dunked in the water,
she accepted the commandments and studied the Torah.

She moved to Jerusalem, to a frum neighborhood,
where she lit Sabbath candles and ate kosher food.

With the passage of time, her good name spread,
and her quest for a husband came to a head.

So if you encounter, in the Holy Land,
women whose buttocks are especially grand.

– Do not be alarmed, and do not scream,
for descendants of the princess are what you have seen!

Yemenite reading of the Torah

Somebody posted this link, on a Yahoo Hebrew group that I follow.  It’s a good example of (San’ani) Yemenite Hebrew.  Note that after each verse, another man reads the “Tarjum”, or Aramaic translation.  Traditionally, it is a child who reads the Tarjum.  Also, the reading is somewhat embellished:
Yemeni reading of Bereshith, the first book of Moses
